Guest guest
Hi, I'm sure your doctors are good but have to throw in that your description sounds so much like my daughter, who does have global apraxia with hypotonia and SPD. She needed a lot of help to learn to chew and swallow regular food and really began a regular diet at 4-5 years old (she still has biting issues). Just a gentle nudge to maybe find the best OT and apraxia SLP you can for another opinion. Soooooo many doctors I've dealt with knew little or nothing about apraxia/dyspraxia (my first Pediatrician told me to just " put the food in front of her -- she won't starve herself -- she'll eat eventually " -- she didn't eat for a week (I quit him). My daughter's hypotonia is hugely better but her SPD still makes her appear a bit quirky at times. Yes, I'd totally recommend boimedical intervention. My child has blown everyone away with how much she's changed and is now a happy child who can express her wants and needs and is on a path to becoming conversational. God Bless.
