Guest guest
Hi Tami! Welcome to the group! I'm so sorry you and your son have to go through all that and ugh some schools can be such a pain. Even if he doesn't have AS, he has the other problems that would make it harder for him in school so some extra help for him sure couldn't hurt. I'm trying to be nice about schools and while I know there are some really good ones, I admit, I'm jaded. Anyway, I won't ramble lol It really is great to have you with us and please ask all the questions you want, everyone here is very helpful and supportive and have answered hundreds of questions from me lol -Jenn, AEP (ADD, Bi-Polar, Anxiety/Depression) Proud Momma of Cory Albert (14yrs ADHD), h Dawn (12yrs Anxiety/Depression) and Jerry Lee " Trey " (9yrs ADHD, Bi-Polar, Asperger's) -- ( ) New to the Group! I just joined the group a little bit ago. I am currently is the process of trying to get my son tested for Asperger's Syndrome. he has previously been diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. He was on Adderall, but I took him off of it 2 days ago. It does not work. He did not take it for 3 weeks and I did not even notice. I started giving him Melatonin to help him sleep, hoping that a good night's sleep might help him in school. He has a lot of signs of Aspergers that I am just noticing with help from others in an ADHD group. I am not getting any help with his school...they say there is nothing wrong with him and he does not need extra help...he NEEDS extra help! I just wanted to say HI...and let everyone know that I am information hungry and might be asking a lot of questions as I learn where to go and where to start...I am lost in this battle right now! Bobby is 14, in the 8th grade, and hopefully he will make it to the 9th grade. Thanks! Tami

Guest guest
People used to start at 3.0mg and jump to 4.5mg as soon as they could if they didn't have any stiffness or insomnia. These days people tend to start lower eg 1.5mg or even 1.0mg and increase as soon as they get past any insomnia etc.. That said, many people don't experience any side effects so please don't let your mind talk yourself into experiencing them as it seems some people now do..................... You may have seen the post from earlier who started straight onto 4.5mg immediately and had no problems. Given you are mixing your own and have total control over your dose I would aim to just keep increasing by 0.1mg per night unless you experience any negative side effects. msilva_3 wrote: Hello everyone, I'm new here and newly diagnosed with MS. I am hopefully going to start on LDN this Wednesday of Thursday thanks to all the great info I found on this site! I was just wondering, since I am starting myself on it via All Day Chemist, (haven't found a doc yet who will prescribe it to me) how much should I start off with and how should I go about increasing it? Thanks in advance to all who reply. Oh and one more thing, a friend of mine just started her own website for moms with MS, called msmommys.webs.com, check it out if your a mommy with ms, or even if your not:) Have a great day and God bless! Guest guest
HI, my name is Anni and I am from Calgary Alberta. I am so happy to have found this group. My son is 29 months and is showing signs of Apraxia. I have been having a hard time finding info, but more importantly, people in my shoes. I have so many questions, What will he be like as he gets older? Will this get easier for him? Could it be Autism? We have been ssing a DAN doc, and are actually going to be doing HBOT in March. I look forward to future chats, if you have any immediate info, or tips, I'd be glad to hear about them! Thanks, Anni
Guest guest
Most people start the round Friday after school and continue until Monday before school starts. The dosing amount is 1/4 to 1/2 mg per pound of body weight. I would suggest the lowest dose to start with. Guest guest
Welcome to the group! It sounds like you have taken some time on your own to educate yourself. Wise choice to avoid IV chelation. Will your DAN! be helping you with oral chelation? Some will not do so if you follow the AC protocol. You do not need a prescription for oral DMSA if you order from www.vrp.com. Starting at 1/8 or 1/4 mg per lb (per dose) is typical. That means your starting dose would be between 5-8 mgs. You could quickly ramp up the dose to 1/2 mg per lb (18-20 mgs)if all goes well in the first few rounds. I have been told not to increase doses by more than 50% at a time. Probably doing 3-5 rounds at the starting dose is a good way to see if you are going to have issues with DMSA (yeast overgrowth is a big one) that would require lower doses or every other week rounds. Starting Friday immediately after school and ending Monday morning before school is generally how we get it done. That means we get about 64 hours and not 72 hours. Occasionally, I find a reason to be in class on Friday afternoon and I give him his first dose then (or in school on Monday morning if I get there to volunteer). I also take advantage of holidays to extend for a full 72 hours. Do you have the supplements in place? A yeast fighter, B vitamins, antioxidants (not ALA unless you are planning to use it as a chelator), etc? My guess is your DAN! has him taking loads of things. Good luck to you on this journey! Guest guest
Pamela! Thank You Pamela I really appreciate your advice.I have to ask again about my DAN' help because he is not really enthusiastic about AC Protocol..the reason..yeast overgrowth? I'm aware of it but he takes for yeast Grapefruit seed extract , Biotagen 2x a day, Therabiotic by Klair Labs, Biocidin (2x a day)..I cut off B viatmins because he stims a lot after taking them( who took like B6, Folic Acid, B Complex, B 12).COL,...plus multi-vitamins and minerals necessary to be replace during chelaltion..magnesium, zinc and others..I think I will start with 5mg DMSA just to make easy on him.. ________________________________ From: Pamela H <phaselow@...> Sent: Thu, February 10, 2011 11:42:19 AM Subject: [ ] Re: NEW to the GROUP!
