Guest guest
Good morning! My DS just turned 4, and is speaking in 4+ word phrases. We just started him on the NN Omega 3-6-9 4 weeks ago, and he has shown improvement on speaking more often (conversationally), and increased from 3-4 to 4+ word sentences. He has been in speech therapy for 2 years. The first 6 months he was recieving 1 session per week, then inncreased to 2 for the next 9 months, and for the past 11 months, as been receiving 4 times per week (2 pull-out session at pre-k and 2 private sessions). When he started, he said only " da. " Our private speech therapist, who has been working with him the entire period, says that he all of his goal now are leaining toward production of speech sounds, as he is demonstrating such huge language improvements most of those goals will drop off soon (although we will continue to monitor language). If we are only working on articulation of specific speech sounds, one session per week will be sufficient. This would mean still 3 sessions per week, but I'm questioning whether or not we should continue with the 4 sessions since he would be entering kindergarten in the fall, and I would like to provide any benefit I can to help his school years. Has anyone else crossed this bridge, and if so any recommendations? Thanks!
