Guest guest
Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Nutriiveda so far. A little background: my daughter just turned 3 and has global delays. She is fairly social and interactive, but sometimes she goes through “slumps”. Not sure if it’s metabolic or if she’s just not getting enough sensory input during those times… in the summer she was extremely talkative, happy, lots of energy, saying more words, etc. Literally one day when the weather changed, so did her mood. It’s not super drastic, but my husband and I definitely notice it. Well a couple of weeks ago she seemed to be hitting a very low slump. She seemed constantly tired. I thought she was going to get sick, as she is often like that before coming down with something, but she didn’t. I had heard about the B12 vitamins and decided to give them a try to see if they would increase her energy, motor planning, and vocalizing. So 6 days ago I started my daughter on a Methyl B12 lozenge. I gave it to her that afternoon. The next day she woke up in a great mood, lots of energy, tons of initiating interactions, lots of laughs and giggles. That continued for the next couple of day. On the 4th day of the B12 I introduced the Nutriiveda. I know that I should have introduced one thing at a time- I would make a bad scientist! But I am not a scientist, I am a mom who’s hopeful about her child’s progress, so I introduced it. The following day she was at my mom’s house the majority of the day and night because my husband was painting her room, but when I did see her for a few hours in the evening she seemed mellow and tired again. The next day her preschool said she was very vocal. That was yesterday. Today she had most of her shake in the late afternoon after her nap. I gave it to her on the way to a Play Project session. About 10 minutes after we got to the appointment she was ON FIRE. Very, very vocal and running circuits around the play area. Up the stairs, down the slide, up the slide, down the stairs, to the swing, running around the room, then running to the mirror and laughing hysterically at herself….. I can’t figure out if it’s good or bad. One one hand she was VERY happy and vocal, and she was exploring and getting tons of exercise (remember, she has gross motor challenges, too, so this is a good thing). But on the other hand, it was almost hyperactive. It was like I wound up the Energizer Bunny. She did that for about an hour. I seem to recall that another mother on this board had issues with hyperactivity on the Nutriiveda. Do you mind recapping what she did to address that? I am not going to assume that the Nutriiveda is making her hyper after just one evening, but I want to have a plan just in case it is! Thoughts? Thanks, Nelia
