Guest guest
We and some of our friends with kids on the spectrum have done Tomatis Listening Program last year. My son always used to run away from the sound of hair-dryer. After we had done with program his fear of hair-dryer vanished. Tomatis is said to help with lots of sensory issues. I have copied a link about sensory issues and sound sensitivity. Dejean is the owner of The Spectrum Center in NY. http://valeriedejean.org/sensory.html http://spectrumcenter.net/ sowmya > > Has anyone used any listening program that helped sensory issues? I am looking for something to help my son desensitize to sounds and to ignore and filter sounds. He has such difficulty with this. EVERY sound is as important as every other sound. It also seems that the most unimportant and often almost inaudable sound is the one he focuses on. Any help would be appreciated. > thanks erin >
Guest guest
Our daughter has sensory issues and we have done some listening therapy. We have used " The Listening Program " and " Vital Sounds " on and off. We preferred the Listening Program. It's hard to know what exactly helps our daughter. I can't say for sure that the listening therapy has had a great impact. But it is supposed to be good for them. I think it's worth a try. Tomatis can be very expensive, but if there is a center near you, it might be worth a try. We have decided to wait until our child is more willing to wear the headphones when we need her to. The therapies we have done have been home implemented. Best Wishes, > > Has anyone used any listening program that helped sensory issues?
