Our church has a ministry for all disabled children. It is set up with a

group called ANgel Ministry. The way it works is volunteers are trained to

work with the disabled little ones. My grandsons have autism. The church set

up a special sensory room for them. The workers rotate so they do not get

" burn out " . Parents are given pagers, so if an emergency occurs they can

leave the service & help attend to their child.

I am not sure if this is just a Baptist type thing. We also helped by

providing training into autism & how every kiddo is different. Please encourage

your pastor to support acceptance. He/She is the one that sits the tone

for others to follow.

Kate,

He's on the lower end of the autism spectrum. At church they have a room for

him but no other boys and no Sunday school curriculum (and being there

4-months). I just feel like a church should be willing to do more. Maybe I'm

wrong.

Thank you for the article I look forward to read it. By the way I did find

something useful on this website
