Baby Babble DVDs

I know the topic of DVDs came up here. We just order the Baby Babble

DVDs and at first I thought I had made a huge mistake. My 2 year old

CAS daughter, was crying and screaming when one of the speech

pathologists came on the screen. She had a very serious expression and

was wearing a black turtleneck against a black background and doing

things like making sounds and sticking out her tongue. To be honest,

even I was a bit disturbed. But I wanted to give the videos a fair

shot. I feel like if it will help make any sounds it would be

worth it. So the next time I watched it and held her while she

whimpered when the woman came on the screen. The third time I made a

big deal about how we were going to watch the lady with the funny faces

and when she came on the screen I laughed and imitated her faces.

laughed and laughed and now loves the video! She speaks so much

while it is playing. Today I noticed that she imitated the woman and

licked her lips and stuck out her tongue. This is just huge as

has never been able to stick out her tongue in an attempt to copy

someone before.

Will the Baby Babble DVDs solve all our problems? No. Will I use them

from time to time as an additional opportunity for to make sounds

and talk? Yes.
