Well Bek -here's one for you. This parent's job is in jeopardy due to this and

she needs an answer. Nobody yet has answered her. Do you have suggestions-

legal ones to help Savannah?

Savannah Simpson So upset that my work has decided to make flu vaccinations

mandetory or be terminated!!! i have learned so much from everyone on this page,

that i am not so trusting the FDA and their " safe " vaccines. Not that i am

completely opposed to vaccinations but when research is rushed and a relitively

new one is combined to make a " super " vaccine and i don't have the right to

choose it.... it's all a little scary. I would love to hear some feed back on

this issue....

I know... I am very passionate about this as well... I wonder if my son was

negatively effected by the years worth of immunizations he received. He was

hitting all his markers up until around 5-6 mo. then, he wasn't keeping up at

all. He didn't smile until he was 3 months. I just wonder about that sometimes.

I know I can't go back and undo all the shots he got, but, I wish I had just

stopped and thought for myself first, did the research, not blindly followed the

masses, etc...

Thanks for posting your views! This is a great subject.

just a quick bit of free legal advice - Savannah needs to see an employment

lawyer immediately if her job is in jeopardy over immunizations.  I don't do

employment law and I very well could be wrong, but it would seem to me that an

employer cannot force employees to engage in any type of preventive medical

care on condition of employment (as a comparison, I would doubt even that an

employer could fire an employee for drug or alcohol abuse without first

providing access to services to help the employee - then it is up to the

employee to obtain those services - if the employee does not and the substance

abuse actually affected performance or was an actual danger to others, then

firing would be possible; the difference between immunizations and treatment for

an ongoing problem such as substance abuse is that immunizations are

preventative - the danger has not manifested - it would seem a person could not

be fired for simply not taking such a preventative

measure as opposed to failing correct an ongoing job-affecting problem).

where is Savannah writing from?  if she needs help finding a lawyer, she can

contact me offline and perhaps I can make suggestions.

I just want to make sure everybody understands that when I mentioned " not

blindly following the masses " that I meant that most people don't question,

research or even find out one way or another if they should vaccinate or find

out if it would be right for their particular family/circumstances. I in no way

meant that if you do your research and find out for yourself what your best

course of action is and decide to vaccinate, that YOU are blindly following....

It is a personal decision and I respect everyone's decision, whatever it may be.

Can they do that? That seems like overstepping the boundaries. What type of work

requires flu shots?

Along the lines of doing research, I found the book by Sears, MD, The

Vaccine Book, to be balanced and full of very good information. We aren't

vaccinating our boys because of their issues, but I'm not anti vaccine for

everyone in all situations. I do agree with Romesa about people really looking

into them and perhaps doing a schedule that isn't so stressful on a very young

immune system. (I really can't figure out why they vaccinate a 12 hour old

baby against a sexually transmitted disease.)

Wow - thanks everyone for sharing their perspective. I'm definitely going to

do some more research this time to make a much more informed decision than I

did in the past. So glad to learn about everyone's perspectives.

Thanks!

flu shots? The virus is mutating constantly. Therefore the shot which you have

this year will contain " protection " from viruses, which happened last year (in

the best case scenario). Means: what type of flu are getting protection?

In addition, no - one really understand how immune system is REALLY working. We

all care trillions of viruses on our body. But we are not getting any symptoms

from them. Up until there is certain circumstances, which allow to one of them

to blossom,i.e. make us sick.

There were studies done in USA. They looked at the caregivers and nurses who

were given flu shot within 10 years. The study showed that there were NO

decrease in the flu cases along this personel. In addition the flu shots

nationwise existing for more than 10 years, but incidents of flu are growing up.

YOu can check it up on the statistics website - which is a governmental website

(means - credible). So, this is your choice what to do, but reseach and make you

decision based on the knowledge rather than on listenning to every official
