Guest guest
Alyssa - My daughter has been on it since january 8th, and I also have not seem much of a change in her. When we first started her I ended up having ot put her on Antibiotics so I'm not sure if that messed things up - as I saw an earlier post from that that could have some kind of impact (decrease any good changes). I will say that 2 weeks ago my daughter started having HORRIBLE behavior issues in school and private therapy, and last week - she was 100% better... Very few incidents at school, and her private therapists said things were much better. But again, I don't know if it's b/c the ear infection we were treating was gone and she was no long uncomfortable or if b/c the NutriiVeda was running it's course and has finally settled her back down? I have no clue. I have changed how I give it to her and she now gets a scoop in the morning and one at night - so not sure if that made a difference. Needless to say I'm not seeing HUGE changes like Mel and Tanner are having - but I'm not giving up. Over the weekend I thought she may have finally found her tongue and was curious as to what this wet thing inside her mouth was! She was playing with her tongue all weekend (hands in her mouth, sticking it out, etc.) which she had never done. Granted it created a huge amount more of drool, but it's ok... Our nanny also said she was starting to make new sounds (She is still non verbal as in - she wants to talk but most of the things that come out are mama, dada, baba)... She also attempts Big Bird with a " Bi Ba " , and is A LITTLE more effectionate with my husband (of which she usually pushes away when he wants a hug). But no HUGE surges.. I guess part of my problem is I am looking for her to talk - and until she does, i won't really notice a lot of het smaller things... But again, i'm not giving up on this product.... It's good for her even if it doesn't work - it's giving her nutrients taht she most liekly was not receiving prior to taking it! I am also using it to try and lose weight, and I also have not seen much progress, but same for me - NOT GIVING UP... I was hoping to see a quick 5 pound loss - but NOPE... I dropped a pound from Mon - Sat. Shake for bkfst, lunch with 2 snacks during hte day and then dinner... By the time I eat dinner I'm STARVING (we dont' eat until 8pm after kids go down)... I am driking lots of water (try and do 3 bottles at work, plus 0 calorie tea) limiting myself to 1 Diet Coke a day... Again - not giving up, cuz it can't hurt me and can only be good for me! Anyone else also seeing hte same lack of changes in their child? J Cristal gtzellner@...

Guest guest
Hey -the good news is that at least you are seeing something -increase in babble, affection, mouth exploration -not bad. What is the age of your child, how long have you been using it and what dosage do you have your child on? I know Gretchen's ped said only one scoop for a 4 year old but I do hope that he is aware that the dosages on the label are per 2 scoops and that most would find it fine to have a 4 year old on 2 scoops a day. Here are the dosages Birth to three - one scoop a day (can be split into half scoop twice a day) Four to Eight -two scoops a day (can be split into 1 scoop twice a day) Nine and up to adult -can take up to four scoops a day -recommended to split 2 scoops 2x a day. The reason I share this is because and Tanner are both on 4 scoops a day and BOTH of them regress if we lower the dosage to 2 scoops a day. Why? We don't know -but clearly whatever effect appears to be dosage dependent. Sowmya for example noticed little in her son on a scoop (which he's able to take 2) but when she raised him to 2 scoops this is when she first thought he got hyper but at the same time started making all the noises and babble...but it drove her crazy so she took him off. And he regressed. She put him back on a scoop and a half and of course as you've read she now views the " hyper " as her son who is also autistic is suddenly more aware of his surroundings and the babble came back. The teacher reported he is more " focused " That's HUGE! And what you are reporting is very typical of what we hear in the first few days of fish oils. Mouth exploration -increase in babble...and then soon after we hear about the surge. Again it's strange how the two seem to be so similar. Yes I do understand how it would be frustrating to read amazing reports about instant surges in some of the children -but as I always said with the fish oil the worst side effect would be no side effect at all. To me the fact that you are noticing the changes you are means something is happening in a good way. An increase in mouth exploration is a great thing as it's an important stage she probably never went through fully. I can post an archive on this if you want. As far as for you -I'd read the program https://zriibucket.s3.amazonaws.com/v1/flash/2/docs/NutriiVeda.pdf and make sure if you want to lose weight that 'you' are using it twice a day which means 4 scoops a day. Again I never read it when I started neither did my friends and neighbors =nor followed it for Tanner -and all of us lost the weight we wanted in about a month or two. Yes you may lose weight using it once a day but that's for maintenance and health. You need to make sure you drink enough water especially the first week, eat 3 meals a day and 2 healthy snacks a day (if you are not eating for hours your body thinks it's starving and metabolism slows down) -so you are pretty much wanting to eat a bit all day -grazing I call it -2 snacks PLUS 3 meals - either replacing one or two meals with the nutriiveda (and again you don't have to replace meals you can eat food with it -this morning Dakota had 2 slices of french toast and his vanilla shake...but you won't eat as much food even if you eat it with food) At http://www.nutraeasy.com you can see a few 15 second commercials with some of my friends and me. Tanner has gone from 5 foot 7 162 to 5 foot 9 3/4 and 148 in 3 months -for weight he's goal now -looks like a different person. But most of the weight he lost in the first week (he lost 8 pounds his first week and then as the weeks went on kept losing a pound or so while he grew) Now my other son Dakota needs to gain weight and eat more -so we are using it for him to build him up! It's NOT a weight loss product -it's a metabolic ayurvedic weight management product that will get rid of excess toxins and fat...if you have excess of either. Either way it also nourishes the body as it's nutrient dense. I don't know about in kids -but in two adults I know who started the nutriiveda while on antibiotics it worked -but not as quickly like it did for the rest of us. (in those two cases in weight loss) One of the people is Barbara CCC SLP who was on antibiotics for months for Lyme Disease when she first started the nutriiveda. I'm sure she'll share more here. I would say that antibiotics may contradict the effectiveness. We are all different and it depends on variables just like anything. My friends with a thyroid problem who are on medication didn't lose as fast as those who didn't have a thyroid problem -but as they pointed out to me the fact they were losing anything at all is amazing. I never dreamed that at my age with little effort I'd go from a size 4 to a size 2!! But it was over 2 months -not a week. So you need to know what you are dealing with and give it maybe a bit more time than a week or so. It's probably bad on my part but I never read through the entire program that is formulated and endorsed by the Chopra Center - but I should have because it addresses the doshas and it also addresses the rates that people will have in progress You can (again) find it here https://zriibucket.s3.amazonaws.com/v1/flash/2/docs/NutriiVeda.pdf And on a funny update side note: You know how when our kids are little and apraxic we think there will never be that day we will say " OK stop talking already and get ready! " And sure enough it comes with the help of therapy and other strategies...well last night shockingly I had to tell Tanner to " turn out the light already and stop reading " I still feel weird that I had to say that and how much stranger that Tanner said " I just want to read a few pages more " (what it was is that he read the book Sea of Monsters all day and he had only about 30 pages left and wanted to finish -and I just said he could read it today) (sigh) I again don't know what is creating the surges- but suspect (again) it's a blend of the compounds vs just one...and I DO believe based on what I've seen that nutriiveda is dose dependent. So keeping that in mind -check with your child's doctor and make sure you are using the dosage you are able to. Even though I don't have a blog for Tanner about this to track his surges and both regressions when either taken off (when it went on back order -the horror and when he went on it once a day during a weekend sleepover) -you can read about Mel's surges and regression off at her blog (and Robin would be happy to share) http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/about (click on the side for all the different weeks) So again let me know age, dosage and how many days it's been for your child -and let me know for you if you were using it once or twice a day. (you don't have to give me your age =====
