Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, From what I've read it seems the hyperness is temporary. Also it seems that if you decrease the amount the hyperness will stop. For instance if you're giving 2 scoops decrease to 1 1/2 scoops. HTH, Yvette A. [ ] nutriiveda and possible hyper behavior I'm curious if other children have hyper or significant emotional behavior problems with other supplement support especially vitamins? I would love to try the nutriiveda with our daughter, but without fail every new supplement or vitamin we try either provides a surge, or sometimes more subtle speech or motor improvement,or sometimes no noticeable change, and then after about a month on anything, she starts with hyper behavior, irritability, emotional breakdowns, obviously regression in school performance because she becomes so aggitated, ocd behaviors, anxiety symptoms... scary ,hugh? Fish oils are the only tried and true help that had no negetive effect. Most recent was methyl b 12,b 6(because she was defficient),and phosphotydyl serine.I saw there was a comment that possibly there was hyper behavior perhaps after trying the nutriiveda with one child . I get so encouraged when I see a surge, or just some improvement in the production of her thoughts, or language in subtle ways, but then the nightmare of these " breakdowns " begin and it literally takes months just to get her well being back to normal(after stopping the supplement)--it's almost like she's detoxing off of the supplements or vitamins. Has anyone felt in the least bit --hmm --I don't know how to put it..edgy?,or have too much energy, maybe difficulty sleeping while taking the nutiiveda? If it can stimulate some it might aggitate her is what I'm thinking. I think that something that might rev up her metabolism might not be the best for her given her track record, but it sure sounds like a wonderful product to try. Any input would be appreciated to help me make a decision(but I am for sure going to try some for) myself!!!! the 8 pounds for the last year I wanted off has now turned to 12-15 pounds-I like the sounds of this stuff! Guest guest
When I increased my son's NV dosage for 1 scoop to 2 scoop he was all-over the place. I waited for almost a week to see if he settled down. Just like you mentioned my son's first reaction to any new supplement is being hyper. I always take it as a good sign but if it is too much then I start reducing the dosage. When we started NV I had stopped all his supplements including fish oil to see how he handles it. On 2 scoops he was really hyper - just hard for me to handle. I stoped NV for 3 days. During those three days I reintroduced all his supplemets[bascially fish oils and neurotransmitters]. On the 4th day brought back NV with 11/2 scoops. He settled down very quickly with that dosage. But the best thing is to check with your kids doctor to see if it is ok to give with all the other supplements. As this was introduced as a weight management product but have been found beneficial to our kids because of all the good properties of the botanicals used - so please check with any medical professionals who is familiar with your child. Giving a little late like after dinner did not work well because he was full of energy!! So i settled for snacktime. The other thing I noticed was his tantrums[like a 3 or 4 yr old] - I was happy to see that because he was expressing his emotions[just like any other normal typical kid] but couldn't encourage him since he is 7!!! So once he realised that it was not an appropriate behavior he expressed it with a little whine or with a long face[which was cute too]!!! Hope this helps, sowmya > > I'm curious if other children have hyper or significant emotional behavior problems with other supplement support especially vitamins? Guest guest
It sounds like our children are a little similar in reacting to supplements. Our daughter is 6(soon to be seven)so I can relate when you're describing tantrums. I'm curious because you mentioned your son is on neurotransmitters(when you said you took him off all supplements when starting nutiiveda)..Our daughter went through neurotransmitter balancing (through a chiropractic nutritionist)before and her excitatory transmitter levels were really high and calming(basically seratonin) were low. A few months ago she was tested again (we got a new dr.) all were sky high and she was really in an aggitated state. Calming supplements like magnesium and l theanine helped. You also mentioned run it by the dr. Again it's not so easy. We are going to Magaziner Center for Wellnes in Cheery Hill NJ and their whole practice is based on natural alternative medicine and he is even perplexed and not getting a handle on what she can and can't handle. He knows what supplements may help and support her but when she gets out of wack he doesn't know why and says stop it.. If you don't mind saying what neotransmitter supplements are you using? I wonder if some kids excitatory transmitters are elevated and then when they take vitamins that can support energy it is just too much and ends up being too stimulating. But I also wonder if combining a good supplement(like nutriiiveda) with calming support we can find a good balnce. I agree stopping other supplements when starting something like this is wise to see how they react--but then unfortunately my daughter never is able to handle many of the things that seem to minimze some of the apraxic struggles without having the extreme aggitation and irritability,so maybe I should use the calming support. Are you seeing positive results with nutiiveda with the dosage you said your son can handle? Thnks Cheryl
