Guest guest
I just received my order in the mail this morning. I am excited to try it. I plan to use it myself first.  I just wanted to confirm the kids dose: 1 scoop full per 8 0z of water and/or milk  Also, anyone interested in posting ways your kids like to drink the Nutriiveda?  Thanks Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use .. Guest guest
Hi Hildy -Tanner and I didn't really care for the taste either when we first got the chocolate...and the vanilla -Tanner's exact words were " it tastes like vomit " (sorry -he's a tween) My husband on the other hand LOVED the chocolate from day one...just mixed with water and said " you are both nuts this is delicious " Dakota will drink either but prefers the vanilla over the chocolate (some people love the chocolate and some the vanilla and some like me will drink either it depends) Flash forward a few months later -I think the flavor must grow on you because I used to love the taste of say milky way bars -now I think they are too sweet yucky and LOVE the taste of the nutriiveda -it's warped my sense of taste. Am I upset that I'll never be able to really enjoy a milky way again? No. I love that my body feels and looks better than it did even before I had kids. And Tanner- we used to have to doctor up our shakes and mix in almond and/or soy milks and even some stevia and agave nectar (agave nectar -a very good thing!) Now Tanner and I can go to say Disney for the day with the family and with Glenn and Dakota we can take a funnel and our " powder " and put it in the water with nothing else -shake it up and drink it and both of us think it's delicious. Not kidding I actually now think when I'm drinking it " if this was heated up it would make the most perfect hot chocolate! " Keep in mind it doesn't have to be made as a shake. Doesn't even have to be made as a drink, and doesn't have to be just mixed with water or some sort of milk -can be mixed in juice. Can be sprinkled on food like waffles (add nutrition to that Eggo!) oatmeal, pudding, ketchup, applesauce, yogurt, ice cream, peaches with sauce...just about anything! You don't have to use the product all at once either -not sure how old your child is and if you are using one scoop or two or more -but you can split it up during the day. The following archive is now up on our apraxia.org page has dosages, suggestions, and anecdotal feedback we have heard so far http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=13047 And I know this isn't the healthiest and I didn't go this route as I used only healthy things to doctor up the nutriiveda with and kept reducing what I added bit by bit...but some of my friends and some here for their kids mix the chocolate nutriiveda with some sort of chocolate milk. My one friend's son loves the Nesquick powder (2 teaspoons) mixed in with either the vanilla or chocolate- and they add peanut butter either way. As an update I just made a watermelon smoothie the other day which was invented by my one friend's (ADHD) HS daughter who is now a straight A student !!! 2 scoops vanilla chunks of fresh watermelon ice water (that's it) My favorite is also 2 scoops of vanilla a few tablespoons of canned pumpkin (not the pie with all that extra junk in it -just plain fresh pumpkin) a pinch of pumpkin pie spices splash of almond or silk milk ice water agave nectar (for this I add it because it's like a dessert) OMG it's like a pumpkin smoothie!!! I also like mixing in fresh berries- either chocolate or vanilla. PS: Tanner still HATES the vanilla. Dakota still LOVES the vanilla. (both will drink the chocolate) Most days I drink the chocolate and can honestly say I actually look forward to it (crave it??) It gives me so much energy and focus -I don't know what's in this but I feel it too. Hildy you'll see it's worth it (at least many of us did) in a few days -and after that for me and others it's been life changing in how it's helped our kids...and us too for that matter. Again more here http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=13047 =====
Guest guest
I'm so sorry Hildy I went to approve messages from my cell and deleted your response to Grerchen. Please resend. Grerchen I think I recall a question about the ice cream. Great idea! > > Hildy, > > My son is 4 and I try and get 1 scoop in him a day. 4 heaping teaspoons equals about 1 scoop of Nutriiveda. So far, it's worked best for when I give him just 1 teaspoon of Nutriiveda, with 2 teaspoons of Nesquik and 8 ounces of milk. It tastes really good. We've been doing that 4 times a day. > > I am happy to say, that I have gradually been cutting back on the Nesquik and adding more Nutriiveda to the drink.  He hasn't noticed a bit! I'm ordering the vanilla this weekend to see if I can sneak it into his applesauce and maybe his fav - vanilla ice cream. > > So far, the results we've seen have been REALLY positive. More complex speech (he's saying things he's never said before), better focus (conversation skills are especially more focused), and his fine motor skills are amazingly better (coloring, tracing, etc). Large motor has never been a problem for , but even that area has still improved - he scored a goal in soccer the other day...and the best part?  He was able to tell me all about it! > > Just like the fish oil, it took me awhile to figure out a way to get the Nutriiveda in him, but we seem to be on a good path now. > > Good luck!  > > Gretchen > > > > > ________________________________ > From: hildy gogal <hildygogal@...> > > Sent: Fri, January 29, 2010 10:44:24 AM > Subject: [ ] Re: Nutriiveda ? > > I just received my order in the mail this morning. Guest guest
i add 1/2 of a banana, a 1/2 of container of light and fit yogurt, maybe some strawberries, 1 equal (yea I know it's not the best)ice and 8 oz of water. The equal makes all the difference. Maybe try honey, I just don't like the taste of honey. le > > > From: hildy gogal <hildygogal@...> > Subject: [ ] Re: Nutriiveda ? > > Date: Friday, January 29, 2010, 10:44 AM > > >  > > > > I just received my order in the mail this morning. Guest guest
Instead of equal or honey -try the Agave Nectar. It's got some good properties and you can buy it anywhere -just about any store I've been in -even Walmart. Again however based on my results and those of my friends -some just like it as is to start and some need to mix other things to start. I thought when I first tried it that it tasted like healthy chocolate if that makes sense...but it does smell like cocoa. Within a month however anyone I knew that didn't like it at first was able to drink it with just water -2 scoops to a bottle of water and shake it up and you're good to go. (that is those I know who do add less and less other stuff) Dakota our older ADHD child just started drinking it recently (after we heard all the great feedback from other ADHD teens) and while it was like pulling teeth for the first week- he never wanted the drink =he was always full -or " not now " or " I don't want that! " Now whenever I ask him " Do you want your vanilla shake for a snack? " He says " sure " Tanner's at a point he asks for it. It does grow on you. Other than communication I don't know yet about academics for Dakota but will again keep all posted. Oh and about Dakota he likes the vanilla mixed with soy chocolate milk and water and I add some agave nectar to his. I only use it for the pumpkin drink I make -but other than that nobody else uses the agave nectar -we all like it as is. Here's info on it from the brand I'm using now: http://www.allaboutagave.com PS Dakota just told me his grades have improved to 100% (!!!!!) in 3 recent test scores but it's only because he's " trying harder " He saw me writing this and he said " I am trying harder so get out of here! " hahaha =====
