hello, i'm lori,i'm 30 yrs old, married to a marine, we just moved to new jersey

from north carolina almost a year ago. lexi my daughter who will be 3 in

november was being seen in NC in early interventin, EI, for speech therapy for

apraxia. Well when we moved here, nj's EI said she wasn't qualified for the

program and was not apraxic. so they left. she has not been making ANY

improvements, in fact the other day a stranger thought she was a 1 yr old by the

way she was talking. very hard to understand her and now the frustration and

aggression has taken its tole on all of us mainly my other daughter emma who is

4 and gets the hits from lexi when lexi gets mad. well i took her for a check up

after her asthma attack, and got a referral to a private therapist to be

evaluated, she instantly said lexi needed speech, and was not diagnosing her

until she was seen by the neurologist which was today. well the neurologist said

she has oral motor apraxia and will need speech therapy. now my question,

where's the light at the end of the tunnel, we have been back and forth with she

has this she doens't and now she has it again. do i trust this diagnosis? what

can i do at home to lesson the aggression that lexi deals with on a daily basis,

once she gets ina sour mood it's very hard to get her to stop being upset and

clinging to me. looking forward to hearing back from everyone!

lori
