Sussex County Delaware Obesity Rate Drops 2.3%

As obesity rates are rising all across the country, the Sussex Child Health

Promotion Coalition is raising the bar in the fight against childhood

obesity by developing, promoting and implementing programs that get children

to eat healthy foods and to increase physical activity. CATCH is proud to be

part of this effort.

CATCH Keeps Students Moving as Well as Communities

Several school districts throughout East Central Illinois have embraced

CATCH in their classrooms. Now, these districts are sponsoring CATCH based

programs, celebrations and activities outside of the classroom to promote

wellness and physical activity to everyone in the community.

LISD is Kicking Childhood Obesity to the Curb

Over the past three years, the Leander Independent School District has

implemented CATCH based programs throughout all of its schools. By focusing

on the four components of the CATCH curriculum, LISD has taken action and is

changing the tide in its fight against childhood obesity.

November's CATCH Champion

With her background in dietetics, Lockerby knows how eating healthy

and physical activity can make a positive impact on the epidemic of

childhood obesity. The strong partnership between the Bradley County Schools

and the YMCA, have already created an increased awareness among staff and

students in just a short time period.
