Guest guest
Well, I have only been able to get about half a scoop into Spencer per day, if that. He is really sensitive to the taste and won't even drink chocolate milk with the NV in it. I even tried mixing it with Nutella and spreading it on graham crackers. I am just trying to put a little bit into everything he eats, but I don't know how much is actually making it down. The best success so far has been sprinkling it on cereal with milk, mixing it in maple syrup for waffles and adding it to very cold apple juice. Again, we are not anywhere near the full scoop recommended for his age. He is almost 3 1/2 and he is big for his age. However, I have noticed some improvements, although it is hard to know what to attribute it to since he did just start new developmental preschool last month. To recap, Spencer has a good vocabulary and can put 3-5 word sentences together, but the longer sentences are often garbled, so he communicates more in 2-3 word sentences. He drops and reverses pronouns a lot. He also has an odd " cadence " to his voice, which seems to be getting a little better with age. For example, he has rising intonation at the end of sentences and puts emphasis on odd words, that sort of thing. He also repeats himself a LOT, which they don't think is necessarily perseverative but more related to the processing and apraxia issues. He likes to sing songs over and over, which while sometimes annoying we generally encourage since we hope it is helping his articulation. Anyway, when singing " Old Mac " he has always had trouble with all the words except for the animal names and sounds, it always sounded really garbled. Today he sang it much more clearly than usual. So that's good! -Barbara
Guest guest
Also, can someone tell me how to do the syringe method? I may try that and say it is " medicine " as I really want to get it all in. > > Well, I have only been able to get about half a scoop into Spencer per day, if that.
