Guest guest
I use the ProEFA (adult version) for my 5 year old. Most on the site use that as well, each capsule contains about 1 teaspoon of fish oils. From: liz_rod04@... I want to make sure I'm ordering the correct product before paying for it. Thanks. Liz
Guest guest
Two quick responses on this. The Jr is a half dosage which would only make sense if you want to teach a child to swallow capsules as a regular " adult " sized capsule is about what the FDA approved for infant formula -so using a Jr capsule you are using a half dosage of what is in infant formula -and most of you would use 2 Jr capsules anyway. There is no such thing as an infant formula or adult formula of fish oil -it's all marketing. Fish oil is fish oil...and there is no set dosage of fish oil for infant or per weight etc. There is a general recommended dosage of one to two (adult sized capsules) a day per person no matter what the brand etc. For research if you check even in pediatrics the dosages typically range from 6 to even over 12 capsules a day (again just calling it " adult " to clarify -but regular sized capsules) So why not use the Jr if you don't need a half dosage for some odd reason or are not teaching your child how to swallow capsules which are the best use of them in my opinion? Because....they are about TWICE as expensive!!! Look at the prices here http://www.speech411.com for regular and jr sized ProEFA. These are all the commercial line and you'll see you get 90 capsules of either regular or Jr capsules for about the same price...but Jr is a half dosage...thus twice as expensive. (the commercial line only has 60 capsules per bottle for about the same price- so commercial Jr is WAY more expensive than ProEFA regular) So Liz -order the regular and not the Jr capsules for the 5 year old. And just one quick correction as it must have been a typo on your part. One full sized capsule of ProEFA is about 1/4 teaspoon as 2 regular sized capsules are about 1/2 a teaspoon. A full teaspoon of fish oil is about 4 capsule. Here's some basic fish oil 101 from our apraxia.org fb page! http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=7401 =====
Guest guest
Is the ProEFA. The " lemon candy " that everyone's talking about the kids eating? Due to hefty sensory feeding issues w some, we've had to do the NN Gummy (orange gumdrops) for some and the Coromega for others On a whim the other day, I stopped at the health food store and she had some samples of the NN Lemon flavored ones and I didn't expect the kids to eat them, but they all did! They have also a strawberry flavored something but that didn't go over well Anyway- what is the actual NN " label " for the " lemon candies " that people here give the kids? And yes- the kid size or adult? Becky Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry > > Two quick responses on this.
