I live in NY, but not in the city, so cant really help with the private. NY is

known for its good services, even in CPSE. You may not need a lawyer to get 1x

more at school! If he has not had an eval in a while, he may qualify for one

more session based on an eval. Have you taken him to a Dev Ped or Ped

Neurologist for an official diagnosis? Only a medical doctor can diagnose

apraxia in NY. If you give the SD a letter from a doctor recommending more,

they'd try to comply, assuming another session would fit in his day. Is he in

full day prek?

he'd do better. He only gets 2 x 30 under CPSE; with EI he had 3 x 30. And

they didn't give him any over the summer. I've seen a great slide backwards.

I'm running all over and the girls are feeling it - and they need some attention

too. I only know of 2 prompt certified slp, both would want us to come to them,

and they are based downtown which would mean yet more travel.

more a week i think would be great for him. Prompt certified, willing to come to

the home... sigh. Maybe too much to ask?

Lori,

You can try this therapist:

http://www.therapistratingz.com/ratings/22571/Therapist--Olsen.html

She is in Long Island, but she is a trainer of the technique and may know of

other therapists in your area.

Hope this helps!

Hi all - my 39 month old son has mild aprapxia - motor and verbal. He has been

recieving EI, and now CPSE, speech, ot and pt. He was diagnosed at 24 months.

He's doing really well, but i can't help but think if we could get MORE speech

he'd do better. He only gets 2 x 30 under CPSE; with EI he had 3 x 30. And they

didn't give him any over the summer. I've seen a great slide backwards.

Instead of hiring an attorney and fighting the powers that be at CPSE, we think

we'd rather use the money towards a private SLP. But we can't find anyone who

will come to our home!!!

I have 3 kids, and already take the boy to speech 2x, ot 2x and pt 2x a week.

I'm running all over and the girls are feeling it - and they need some attention

too. I only know of 2 prompt certified slp, both would want us to come to them,

and they are based downtown which would mean yet more travel.

ANY leads would be much appreciated. We live in Northern Manhattan literally

right over the GW bridge so would even work for a New Jersey slp. Even once more

a week i think would be great for him. Prompt certified, willing to come to the

home... sigh. Maybe too much to ask?

Thanks for any help!
