Guest guest
I'm so proud of Nicky (almost 5) and his latest surge with fish oil! He's been on 3 EFA/ 1.5 EPA for months now, and I recently increased it to 4/2 pills. I haven't seen such a big jump since I first started the pills 2 yrs ago. In the past 2 weeks, he went from omitting " l " and " r " to using a " w " . " Ga-ma " is now " gwanma " , he plays with " twains " instead of tains, etc. Unfortunately, he also repeated " cwap " the other day. A few weeks ago, his speech therapist said she found his voice lacking inflection - almost monotone? I never noticed, but his teacher and another speech therapist saw it also. At my IEP meeting yesterday, she told me that she has been modeling inflection, and he's been doing it very well. Of course, I panicked that he surged a week before his IEP meeting, but they kept his schedule. The first time I started fish oils, I started with 2/1 (Speak trial equivalent), then bumped him to 4/2 (nordic naturals) and finally 6/3. When I stopped for an evaluation, I started with 2/1 again, and never climbed past 3/1.5, because it seemed to bring him back to where he was. I never thought to raise it again, but I'm so glad I did. I'm so proud of how good he sounds!
