Guest guest
When was that age she would eat until she threw up. It was as if she couldn't tell when she was full. I started giving her a lot less on her plate and made sure everything was cut up into pieces small enough for her to handle. I also started telling her " When you're full, stop eating. " It took awhile, but she finally learned. By the time she was ten or so she could be trusted with serving herself and cutting up her own food. Hope this helps, Sue. Guest guest
OMG!!!! That used to happen to . She would still have un chewed spaghetti or hot dogs (the worst!!!!) Don't know how we over came it. Maybe try to cut the food into smaller pieces??? She's good now. Maybe just work on taking smaller bits and making sure she swallows everything first before eating more??? Just some thoughts.

Guest guest
" Just now I took a mouthful of the last of the glass I had poured and there was a clear snotty thing that wound up in my mouth! " *L* Yep , that's what it was... a baby scoby, it is gross, but not unhealthy. (in fact it's very healthy for you) I stain mine through a stainless steel mesh just before serving. I toss the snotty thing into my compost bin. Dove -- It's not easy being a locavore
Guest guest
It's OK, it's OK. It was a baby scoby! Guest guest
Like Gayla said, it's a baby SCOBY! And entirely normal to find one. Some folks gulp 'em right down on a regular basis, others do strain them out. They are a bit off putting the first time you accidentally snag one in your mouth...lol... Won't hurt you, actually as good for you as the KT and a sign you have a living brew! Gayle gross question >I have my tea in the fridge. It's been strained and put in a 2 quart > container. Guest guest
Well those scoby's should come with a warning label LOL! Holy Gawd that caught me off gaurd!! SO now this means that it does in fact continue to ferment in the refridgerator? Wow... And that will happen if I bottle this in beer bottles and seal each one to be kept at room temp too? Do these mushrooms come with a chemist suit? haha... Thank you so much everyone for your replies! Great help... xoxoxo > > I just let them go down and tell myself I just got an extra dose of good stuff. > > Dorothy > > >> poured and there was a clear snotty thing that wound up in my mouth! > >> Any ideas what this might have been? Guest guest
> And that will happen if I bottle this in beer bottles and seal each > one to be kept at room temp too? , What will happen is your bottles will explode and there will be kombucha and glass shards everywhere. Please do know that if you seal kombucha up tight in bottles and keep it at room temperature then you must burp the bottles often (at least every 2 days). In the refrigerator, no problem. -Patty > > Well those scoby's should come with a warning label LOL! Guest guest
The first time it happened to me I thought it was a like raw oyster or clam sliding down...eek! kath
Guest guest
Patty: <<<<What will happen is your bottles will explode and there will be kombucha and glass shards everywhere.>>>> EEK!! This happened to me last summer when I was trying to make meade and I put a lid on the fermenting jar. I thought someone discharged a shot gun in my family room and thank God I had something in front of it or it would have been like shrapnel through my delicate skin! LOL . I could not believe it!! Thank you so much for the warning! I thought beer bottles could take the carbonation but I guess since it keeps fermenting then its a no go! Thanks again... Guest guest
Did someone post on this group about their child's poop floating and they realized they had a gastrointestinal issue? My son has no developmental delays, he only has the apraxia issue. I have an awesome neurologist who has referred me out to just about every other specialist you can think of. We've done the genetics testing and he does have a chromosome deletion in a small segment on the 17p arm. The only specialist I haven't been to is gastrointestinal and I will be going in the new year. I kept mentioning to all of the doctors that my son is having more Bowel movements than should be normal. She referred me yesterday for the gastro ped. I recalled somoene posting about this a while back so for kicks I hung his diaper above the toilet and dropped some in and sure enough it floated. If you were the one posting about it please let me know any information you can... Thanks Sue
