Guest guest
It's probably because she's been sick for 2 weeks Demi- that's really hard on her little 10 year old body. How's it going with the absence seizures? Any since being on the nutriiveda? (just read Mel's update on the blog and Mel is seizure free for the 2 months on nutriiveda!!!) It's not that the diarrhea 'can't' be from the nutriiveda -but typically that would be a sign in the first few days if ever -it has not been reported here by anyone else -or that I know of. If she wasn't sick for 2 weeks that would be different. Is it possible that she's just run down? Can you leave her home from school for a day or so to just rest? One thing I can say is I found your update from a few days ago and I find it amazing that she's having the surges she is having considering she's been sick for 2 weeks!!!! Are you doing the BRAT diet right now for her? Banana, Rice, Applesauce, Toast and Tea (actually I guess the BRANT diet haha -oh come on you guys know what the N stands for!) Below is your past messages -I say home from school tomorrow and BRANT for a day or so! Make sure enough liquids!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~here's are your updates from a 4 and 2 days ago Our Nutriiveda experience so far Feb 15, 2010 4:17 pm > > > Our daughter has been on Nutriiveda now for about 10 days. The second day she went to the kitchen and spontaneously said (eat). She also grabbed my face that day to look into my eyes and tried to say something to me. She was babbling more and tyring to say more. During these first few days she was acting up at school though. >  > By day 5 she was behaviourally better at school and started to put the front part of a word in. For example many times she says (ack) for back or (ome) for home but now she started to say the full word.  On the 6th day she repeated the word yes and spontaneously said hello (she always says hi and not hello) . She was constantly laughing at shows that day and paying attention to them. She also tried to trick my husband. He was taking her to brush her teeth in the washroom. She then stepped behind him and waited for him to go into the washroom and then took off on him after he had gone in. She did not follow him in. The school though reported a difficult day that day. She kept putting her head down and not wanting to work. Not sure if it was the cold or Nutriiveda but at home she was ok. >  > On day 7 she said her name in full (). She usually says (cole). By day 9 my husband and I noticed her face was more expressive. She also tried to say her two word combinations more and tried real hard to put three words together. Day 10 today- she was more chatty this morning. I asked her a few questions and she answered me with simple one word responses. Today she also went into the kitchen and opened all the kitchen cupboard doors to see what is inside. She was also listening well today. >  > She continues to have a cold so I wonder if Nutriiveda would work even better with bigger surges when she gets well. >  > I only have her on Nutriiveda at this time as I wanted to make sure nothing else interfered with it. I still though give her seizure meds as she has absence seizures. I was giving her Krill oil but stopped this. The ProEPA and ProEFA which I had used in the past did help her initially but then it plateaued so I had switched to Krill oil based on a doctor's suggestion to see if this worked. >  > This last week we have seen some behaviour issues at school, chewing her hands, licking ice on our rink (yuk). Could this is oral exploration ? She is sleeping well but I noticed is taking longer to fall asleep. Today I tried to get her to write her name as her fine motor is weak. She held the pen okl and I let her try to write her name on her own as I always hold her wrist for strength and better control. She did do it but it was still big and all over place but she still held onto the pen on her own the whole time. Usually if I don't hold her wrist she will just drop the pen. >  > I was wondering some things, 1)  is Nutriiveda hard on the kidneys or liver. I am just wondering as she is on a seizure med and so I want to make sure there is no overload. 2) She also does not like to drink a lot so is that ok when using Nutriiveda ? I have been putting her Nutriiveda in apple sauce and she loves it. It tastes just like chocolate pudding. >  > 3) As well, can Nutriiveda cause yeast symptoms and or can it help heal the gut. >  > I am just hoping that it is truly the Nutriiveda and hope that things get better. To be honest I have questioned myself on if I am seeing these things because I am just paying more attention. I don't know but I will continue and see how things go. There seems to be some good things going on here. >  > Thanks, > Demi > Tue Feb 16, 2010 9:12 pm Re: [ ] Re: Our Nutriiveda experience so far Hi ,  Interestingly the therapists and the teachers have not really said much. My daughter actually has been more assertive at school lately and wanting her own way so they are considering this as behaviours. She is trying to speak more though and is using two word combinations more but like I said also causing them grief. Hopefully this will stop soon and she will do great in her academics and pay more attention to her work rather than trying to get out of work.  As she has been sick though I am dying to see how things go once she is over her cold. Hopefully her academics will pick up more and so will her speech and I will get lots of great reports.  She is currently in a regular school and is in grade 4 but has an EA by her side all day long and she is in a modified program. She follows the regular curriculum but they make it easier for her and have pictures and an aid with her as she cannot communicate well.  As for her absence seizures for us these were controlled by medication but every so often you would see one small one break through as she is on a low dosage of seizure meds. So far I have not seen any small break through ones yet but she has not been on Nutriiveda long though. I am hoping they will be gone. I will discuss this with her neurologist next time I see her.  Thanks so much for answering my questions. It is always so comforting to know you are all out there and we have one common goal-- to help our children.  I will continue to keep a log and report back to you all every so often to update you.  One funny thing my daughter did yesterday was go to the kitchen, grab the container of Nutriiveda off of the counter and bring it to me so she could have some and said (eat). I guess it has her seal of approval :-)  I do have one more question though, do you think I should start my daughter on Pro EPA and Pro EFA again ?  New stuff today- When you tell her to look at you she will now look at you right into the eyes. My husband mentioned this today that he has noticed it much more. So it looks like she is trying to focus more. That is great ! She has also been pulling at her tongue a lot and playing with it.  Thanks, Demi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =====
Guest guest
My almost six year old son has had fantastic gains on NV! He has also had 5 days of major diarrhea for the first time in 3 years!!! I have been thinking that the biotin in NV is causing yeast die off or some sort of detox is happening which would be great!?! I could be wrong but that's my theory! I'll keep you posted on our status. Good luck AJ From: td232006 <td23@...> Subject: [ ] Nutriiveda and Diarrhea Date: Thursday, February 18, 2010, 9:44 PM  I was wondering for the last three nights my daughter has had diarrhea. She has been on Nutriiveda now for 2 weeks. She has also been sick with a cold for about the first week and a half while on Nutriiveda so I am not sure if the diarrhea is due to the tail end of her cold or if it is the Nutriiveda. Could the diarrhea be due to the Nutriiveda ? Any comments would be appreciated.  Thanks, Demi
Guest guest
Hi ,  With respect to the seizures, I am not sure if they are gone yet as they were controlled with the medication and she is still on the medication. I am hoping they are gone like 's and may ask for an EEG soon.  Something funny and good ::Last night, I heard my daughter bouncing on my excercise ball in our basement rec room while she was watching a show. She was lying on the ball with her feet up and was going back and forth pushing (or better yet may I say hitting) the TV with her feet so she could bouncing off to get momentum going back and forth with the excercise ball. She does this every so often. When I heard the banging on the TV I went to the basement door and asked that she stop hitting the TV with her feet and to please go and sit on the couch and watch the show.  As I know she will continue to do it unless I go down and tell her stop face to face, I started going down the stairs and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw her leaving the excerise ball and walking to the couch to sit down. She actually did what I said without me being in the room. I was upstairs. This really impressed me. She does seem more connected.  She also continues to pull on her tongue and play with her mouth.  Thanks, Demi  From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Nutriiveda and Diarrhea Date: Friday, February 19, 2010, 12:14 AM  It's probably because she's been sick for 2 weeks Demi- that's really hard on her little 10 year old body.
