[ ] Nutriveda questions

I bought Nutriveda for my apraxic son, he is 3 1/2. I tried to give it to him

this morning first in pudding, no go... he threw it up. Then in a milk shake,

again... threw it up (he has a gag reflex as soon as he doesn't like

something). Then in his milk, which he took two sips and was done. Any other

ideas on how I can get this into him? He is not an applesauce or yogurt eater,

doesn't like chocolate at all, so vanilla is our only choice. My husband thinks

it may be a texture thing with him. Amazingly he has always taken the fish oil

without a problem.

Should I try to ease him into it? I did a half a scoop, but am thinking we need

to work up to that (thinking out loud here) to desensitize him. Any ideas would

be appreciated. He

Thanks,

Some kids do not like the texture[mine did not until I used a blender] or the

taste.

Maybe you can premake the shake in a blender with his favorite juice.

You can spoon feed him the shake just like fish oil. One spoon at a

time.....without forcing him.

Start with 2-3 spoons in a day...then increase it. Its hard work...but might

help him ease into it.

Just a suggestion.

I don't know how much is in a scoop, so this may not work, but, your local

pharmacy should either carry or be able to order empty capsules (and they are

pretty cheap). You could put the powder in those, and if he takes the fish oil

caps, he should take those without a problem. The ones I have seen are either

clear or white in color, and are the same capsules other medicines come in. If

there is a lot to a scoop, maybe do half this way and half in his milk so it

wouldn't be as much of a texture thing? Hope this helps!

Nutriiveda is an ayurvedic product which was introduced as a metabolic support

weight management product that has helped the kids.

It is GFCF.

Here is a link about it:
