had a birthday and is now 26! Wow what a difference from last

year, what a difference from just a few months ago! I will share more

about the birthday in my next blog as I have some photos I want to

share as well.

I have been reading all the posts with amazement and joy for all of

the positive experiences that are occurring with the Nutriiveda in all

the parents trying it with their children now. But at the same time I

wish Mel could have had these surges years ago and not as an adult. I

know that people read this blog and think Mel's progress is amazing

and I must be so happy. I am happy, but I wish for so much more.

While yes I agree has made amazing surges in so many areas I

will admit I was actually hoping even though it's been less then three

months she would be able to speak much more. I am aware that we are

now dealing with issues that should have been dealt with when Mel was

a child but as always says it's never too late and she pushed me

to find a therapist that will work with Mel the way she is today and I

did. In addition to the nutriiveda will begin appropriate

speech therapies to help guide her along with speech! We are looking

forward to Monday as that is when her evaluation will take place with

her new speech therapist that has all levels of PROMPT as well as

other speech therapy methods to help Mel with her motor planning with

plus 32 years of experience. What I am most thrilled about is

's new therapist specializes in working with teens and adults

with apraxia who grew up with apraxia but like Mel in many cases were

misdiagnosed. She has so much hope that she will be able to help

Mel. I can't even believe I found someone this perfect to work with

our Mel!

Nutriiveda has madea huge impact on 's life in addition to

everything else in that she has been PTSD and Seizure free for the

entire two months on it which is amazing. When I look at the big

picture for I realize now that really needed to be

free of PTSD and Seizures to move forward. Life is so easy now as I

never think about the possibility that I can no longer go out and do

something because of . continues to be the first one

in the car with her seatbelt on ready to go. loves to be away

and no longer wants to be home. I do make a point each day to be home

some time in the morning and afternoon so she can work on her therapy

items that I have created for her at home. is able to work

now for almost 2 hours without a break and no complaints. I can not

remember the last time she was able to work on task for that long.

There are so many updates and changes it's hard to keep up.

really is enjoying writing. She really loves to practice writing and

loves to answer all her questions now thru writing. needs my

hand over her hand for weight and I need to stable her wrist but you

can see 's hand moving not mine moving when she is writing. We

are trying to figure out how I can remove my hands so if anyone has

any ideas, please share them with me. It seems like needs

weight and stability when it comes to writing. Her new therapist said

she has some ideas so I'm looking forward to seeing what can be done

Monday.

This morning after did her therapy work for me I asked her if

there was anything she would like to say before we stopped. She took

the pen and my hand and made sure my hand steadied her hand and she

wrote " I am not MR " I get chills just writing this as as you

know was misdiagnosed as MR and autistic much of her life. How much

we wonder what was said in front of her by professionals who may have

spoken right in front of her not realizing that she could hear and

understand them -but was unable to communicate back due to her severe

global apraxia. I know that is smart, and she constantly

wants to show us she is. She shouldn't have to prove herself. I

shared with my ideas of what would be her next step once she

has mastered one form of independent communication There is a Private

Christian School that said once either speaks, types, or

writes on her own they will enroll her in their adult high school

diploma program and she can earn a regular Georgia Diploma.

A funny story is after listened to my conversation to

Tom about Mindy and how she was stressing over a grade that was a low

A and not a high A. I said that some days Mindy is my most

complicated daughter. wrote " I am easy " LOL

has lost a total of 15 pounds and looks great now as she lost

that weight she had gained from the medication. Her desire for

wanting to eat all day long has disappeared. Looking back it's still

so funny to me to think that this is really the only benefit we felt

would occur for since nothing else really never worked. Even

though
