Guest guest
I know that this group is geared more toward sharing the details of what we are doing with our kids and what works and what doesn't, but I was wondering if any of you have found good online " support " groups for dealing with the emotional aspects of parenting special kids. My son specifically seems to have a type of language disorder, which also presents with " uneven cognitive development " and some autistic characteristics. We don't fully know what we're going to be dealing with as the years pass. He's in a little preschool program now, and it's just so hard seeing the other kids, and what they can do and say. And Halloween (we celebrated last night) was hard. I also have an older child whose OCD is flaring up at the moment, so I have my hands full and I guess I'm feeling it right now. I know this isn't the place to ask for " that kind " of support, although you guys are all very nice and it helps just reading about all the things we're all trying with our kids, So where do you go for help with the emotions? I'm personally seeing a therapist, but I need something specific to the parenting stuff, I think. Thanks,
