Guest guest
I am very aware of the benefits of Nutriiveda... my son (will be four tomorrow!)drank it for three months (though needed to be coerced!) and then stopped after a visit to his grandparents in July. We saw steady improvements... thankfully there has been no regressions and we are still seeing progress. (phew) In fact, he had tremendous language growth this summer and went from severe to moderate diagnosis! My daughter (2.5 years old) has been drinking it without issue since the spring. She actually " asks " for her " chocolate " milk first thing every morning! Her apraxia is much more mild but her language skills are rapidly growing and we are so happy! It is torture trying to get my son who has oral/texture issues to drink/eat the Nutriiveda. We have tried bribery, (which I loathe!) and multiple " disguises " as well as " reasoning " -- which of course does not work with his age group! NOTHING IS WORKING! And it is so hard to know that he could have even better results if we could get the darn product into his body again! -- open invitation for you to visit and try yourself! Help! C. Guest guest
Time for the Sheriff!!! Remember, you ARE bigger than he is. I had the same problem with my son and put so much importance on this getting into him that I just held him tightly with a sippy cup (with soft nipple) and we sat there, he squirmed and cried, but, eventually, it was all down and he was my happy boy again. The first time took a long 30 minutes, but, it only takes around 5 minutes now, if he chooses not to drink it voluntarily. Any parent on this forum CAN get it in them. It's just a matter of showing some tough (but gentle) love when you know it is for their best. We make them take antibiotics when they have a serious illness, we make them eat healthy foods, why wouldn't we make sure they get something in them that is actually HEALING their disorders? Feel free to call me any time! Sincerely, Romesa The NV Sheriff 334-220-8140 From: lisad529@... Date: Sat, 9 Oct 2010 11:44:57 +0000 Subject: [ ] open invitation to G! Guest guest
I feel your pain!! My younger son Tanner has been consistently taking NV for one year now -in fact the list here -he's had improvements in just about every single area http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html and he's at 14 now slightly taller than our 16 year old -Dakota- who is resistant. We have had to put our foot down with Dakota but there are still days that I have had to pour out entire cups of NV that I made for Dakota while yelling " Do you know how expensive this stuff is for me to just be pouring it out?! " While Dakota is saying " I don't need it " and my husband who is a huge believer as well saying " You DO need it, you CLEARLY need it and YOU WILL DRINK IT " My husband has been the drill sergeant in our home that Romesa is in hers What really got Dakota to start drinking NV daily was when Tanner who shot up from 5 foot 7 to just about 6 foot pretty much in front of our eyes- passed Dakota our poor picky eater. Dakota then started drinking NV daily and he too shot up at 15 years old -and in fact as I just pointed out in months -less than 6 months -he grew 1 and 3/4 inches and gained a much needed 17 pounds -he looks great and so much healthier! And yes while he doesn't note any improvements in school -his grades went up higher (he is gifted but has ADHD) to finally show the brilliance that was always there -his communication went from one word answers to questions to anyone outside of his friends to conversations that are noted by all -and much more happy and friendly in general to all and not just his friends. Obvious surges in this now 16 year old. We got to a point that he even asked for NV a few times -and yes would drink it every day. I have both my 14 and 16 year old on 6 scoops a day -3 scoops twice a day and all has been over the moon amazing for everything -school of course the most obvious for Dakota -but again growth and health and just well being noted too. But...just like you had an issue with your picky one drinking it until Grandma's house...we left the boys with neighbors when we flew up to NY for my Aunt's funeral and were gone for 5 days. While Tanner made sure he got all his fish oils and NV every day (neighbors say he looks for them) my son Dakota readily admitted he " forgot " to take either most days. We came home to Dakota having a sore throat and he was vomiting - he was sick which again our family rarely gets sick. Tanner and the rest of our family didn't get it -just Dakota. So I took Dakota to his pediatrician and he was put on antibiotics (ugh! but I take sore throats serious and don't want to mess with that) and guess what? We are back to square one where once again Dakota is refusing his NV. Back to me pouring entire cups down the drain. And as I sit here we are on our way to Epcot Center's Food and Wine Festival and have a half empty travel cup of Dakota's NV next to me because he drank half and then fell asleep (we just picked him up from a friend's house where he probably didn't sleep -9 other boys were there!) and I know it's once again a fight to get this into him. But yes -even Dakota's pediatrician is on board with NV -blown away by the incredible growth and changes in both my boys....funny how one lost the amount of weight that the other gained- but for those of you friends with me on fb you'll see both are taller than me and my husband at about 6 foot tall now. Dr. Bowling said to me in front of Dakota as I wrote here before " Oh you just think he's not listening to you. But you watch when he goes off to college the work load is going to be tough and he's going to realize himself at some point " I need to drink my NV " and he will " But even with hearing it from us, his pediatrician, knowing his growth surge was " extremely impressive " according to his ped- he's still a bit resistant -but we have him slowly back on track again. Romesa writes about this because her son was on NV and drinking it and seeing surges -then she started fish oils and he readily took the fish oils but refused the NV...and for a few weeks no NV just fish oils and the surges stopped outside of imitation of a sound from a song. This is why she's forcing it. I certainly hope one doesn't have to go that route -or often (seems like it was a one time force thing for Romesa even) I mean our grandparents used to have to take cod liver oil on a spoon every single day and there was no such thing as a child saying no back then as we all know. For older kids you can talk to them about it. Tanner's been on the phone with kids from this group and tells them (which he is willing to do for you or anyone) " nutriiveda has been really good for me and I highly recommend you drink it. Mix is with food or anything you like or hold your nose and drink it if you have to but just drink it " But a 4 year old...that's when I did more " magic " stories behind the fish oils to get Tanner to take them. Call it magic powder to help him talk more. Or the other thing you can do is put aside the amount he needs a day and take a wee bit and add that to every single bit of food at a time -little enough he can't taste it. I'm taking it you have already tried all the recipes here? http://pursuitofresearch.org/serving_suggestions.html Let me know if you think it would help to have Tanner talk to him- sometimes kids listen to " big kids " more than adults. I know it's difficult -but I have faith in us that if we as parents believe in something -we can do this!! (hey isn't there a book about this and a train!) =====
