Guest guest
I just updated on my son, but he's been on NV for about 3 1/2 weeks. In the past 2 weeks he's gone from 26.2 lbs to 27.8. So in his case it has been beneficial. > > Reading the testimonials , I really want to try it with my son who is strugguling with speech. But the only issue I see is it being the product is being also advertised for Weight Management, and some of the ingredients say " it reduces fat from the body " , My son is so thin and currenlty we are struggling to make him eat various things in order for him to gain weight. How could this product be useful in this instance. > > thanks, > Roopa > > > > > ________________________________ > From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> > > Sent: Thu, April 22, 2010 9:01:51 AM > Subject: [ ] Re: and NV > > Â > Alyssa what has 's doctor said about the 11 weeks free of seizures (!), with the Depakote reduced in half (!!)...and can we mention in spite of almost directly after reducing his meds he went on the roller coaster that had warnings against those with epilepsy riding it(!!!) Guest guest
It's an understandable question Roopa and one we have covered a few times already but you are probably new. Nutriiveda is a protein powder where the nutrients are all 100 percent natural and from whole foods. Each serving contains 'all' of the essential amino acids and anyone who knows about nutrition is aware of how rare that is. Each ingredient is certified a food, tested free of any heavy metals, pesticides or herbicides - and it is gluten, casein, fat, sodium, caffeine free and from again the whole foods is nutrient dense and replaces a multi vitamin even though I suggest a combination of nutriiveda and fish oils as one is the essential fatty acids and one the essential amino acids. Essential means your body can't assimilate it and needs to consume it and quite frankly most kids don't eat that healthy so it is hard to get all the essential nutrients their body needs in through the typical diet. Nutriiveda now that I understand it better is watered down just a really healthy " Whole Foods " version of Carnation Instant Breakfast if Carnation Instant Breakfast was even a fraction as healthy -there are no known side effects, drug interactions or any known overdose level. The whey isolate protein however greatly increases naturally the glutathione in the body which naturally will detox the body. If one has extra fat or toxins in the body nutriiveda will naturally rid the body of it -however if one needs to gain weight, height, muscle- the product will help there as well. There is nothing in it specifically to make you lose weight. It's designed to work with what the body's needs are. In an ayurvedic fashion it was designed to help nourish and detox the body by leading medical doctors including Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. Simon. The reports you are reading about here are due to an accidentally discovery by me with my 13 year old son Tanner who did need to lose weight. We have since had hundreds of parents try nutriiveda and I'd say the great majority of them have children that are low percentile and once on nutriiveda the reports are gains in weight and height as well as muscle. As far as working with the body a perfect example is from Dianne who lost 15 pounds that she needed to lose on nutriiveda and she also reported feeling like a " fog was lifted " in the same month that her son Liam who has autism gained 3 pounds, grew and inch, went from " translucent looking skin " to a " healthy glow " and had gains in social, speech and imaginative play as well as sleep which she just posted about. Same product -worked different for the needs of the person consuming it. Again it's a whole food- and food is not a drug -it works with the body. Again if a banana came with a nutritional label the questions here would be " is 467 mg of potassium too much for a 30 pound child " (an average banana contains 467 mg of potassium but most don't know and don't check) Point is that it's only a bit scary because as Kate has pointed out (like 3 times now it's " too good to be true " type results. So just think of it as a protein shake. Nutrients 'and' surges -what could be better?!! I hope others jump in -but please do check the archives as well. More here on our FAQ page http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html PS as I was writing this noticed that Liralen updated that her son too gained weight (and Liralen lost weight) again -same product -different results. Like any whole food -your body takes and uses what is needed. =====

Guest guest
NV is a 100% natural, whole food supplement that many of us parents have found to dramatically improve the condition of our children who have a wide range of neurological disorders. Guest guest
Hello, I am also new to NV and just wanted to say that I am not absolutely sure we see huge gains with NV, but my 13 yr old (on the spectrum, aspergers? and apraxia) is an extremely picky eater and I really love that he is drinking this and getting his nutrients! I did look around at our local health food stores and checked out their " health drinks " and I found them to be around the same cost and many were even more expensive. wow! it is expensive and I actually have two sons who are drinking it....my older son, who is 15, nt but has really long days outside the house due to school, clubs etc doesnt eat lunch at school so I like knowing he is getting more nutrients in. My younger son looks healthier and is growing....and informed me the other day that he is finally going thru puberty!!!! he has been dying to reach puberty:) he keeps asking me if his voice is deeper, lol Anyway...with the NV, I do notice he is expressing himself more, really having long conversations with me etc instead of those one-word answers I used to get. So I think it is helping him and I'm not worrying as much about his poor diet. -rita
Guest guest
Hi Barbara, Do you recommend giving NV to the child before bed or in the morning? thanks, RP ________________________________ From: Barbara <helpmespeak@...> Sent: Mon, October 25, 2010 6:24:38 PM Subject: RE: [ ] Re: NV  It is best not to evaluate for any positive changes until he has been on NV for at least 3-4 weeks. It does seem to be dosage dependent, so it’s good that he is getting a scoop/day. Make sure that he is getting enough fluids. Multiple his weight by .6 to get the total oz of fluids/day—total of all water, milk, juice, etc. A slight increase in activity level is normal at first due to the Bcomplex vitamins that are present (not added) in the NV. Constipation occurs if the fluid intake is not sufficient. So, in my opinion, continue the NV for at least a month without adding or changing anything else and then reassess how he is doing. Remember to look at all the areas: speech, fine motor, gross motor, receptive/expressive language, etc. Warmest wishes, Barbara Barbara A. , M.S., CCC-SLP CEO/ Help Me Speak, LLC <http://www.helpmespeak.com/> http://www.helpmespeak.com (o) 410-442-9791 (f) 410-442-9783 2500 Wallington Way; Suite 103 Marriottsville, MD 21104 follow us on FaceBook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Marriottsville-MD/Help-Me-Speak-LLC/104628852032 Call me with any questions about NutriiVeda! www.hms.myzrii.com ********************************************************************************\ ********** Above email is for intended recipient only and may be confidential. He’s been on NV for 8 days now, with 1 full scoop per day (1/2 in the am, ½ in the pm). We haven’t really noticed any improvement in his speech (in either attempting to talk more or talking more clearly). The 2nd full day on he was extremely hyper, much more than normal, but that went away the next day. The 4th and 5th days on he was constipated, but that went away as well. Are these 2 items normal for the NV user? Is 8 days a fair enough time to gage NV’s helpfulness? He’s also taking 0.5 teaspoon of Nordic naturals ProEFA and enzymes with his meals since he has malabsorption issues (he was malnourished up until 8 months, he’s adopted from Ethiopia). Before I put my son on NV I too didn't understand what an expensive high quality product this is- never heard of most of the ayurvedic foods in it either. So I checked this out and got NV approved with not just Tanner's pediatrician and my friends who were medical and PhD doctors, nutritionists, authors in nutrition, a friend who is well known with a PhD to train personal trainers world wide etc (can provide any of their names and have if you check the archives)...but I also went on the internet and called PhDs in ayurveda as I knew nothing about what that was. Experts in nutrition use the following words to describe NV across the board " impressive " " high quality nutritional product " and at worst will say " well don't know if it's going to help ____ but it's certainly going to be healthy " And PLEASE share if you have heard anything but from ANYONE who knows about nutrition!!! I'm now using NV as a gauge to see how knowledgeable one is in nutrition -and I know most of us as parents are not. I mean no offense -but most of us have never heard of ayurveda prior to NV. So what is ayurveda? Ayurveda simply means the " science of life " and it's actually more common in the west than we know. Chicken soup for a cold? Comfort foods? Food for thought? Those are all examples of expressions or traditions of using food to help the body help itself. If you have a headache in the west we take aspirin -in the east perhaps some tea and relax outside in nature or take a warm bath. (just an example -don't quote me as I'm not an ayurvedic doctor!!!) As a western neurologist and eastern ayurvedic doctor who is co founder of The Chopra Center (and one of the doctors who formulated NV as well http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html ) Dr. Simon speaks of the internal pharmacy which represents ayurveda. What is known is that we each have an internal pharmacy that is greater than any outside pharmacy -but the body needs essential nutrients in order to function at top potential. Nutriiveda is formulated by doctors who blended the 5000 year old ancient medical wisdom from the East with the validation and knowledge of Western science. NV was formulated by world renowned medical doctors including Dr. Deepak Chopra http://pursuitofresearch.org/advisors.html but....it was NOT formulated for our children, for special needs, for autism, seizures, apraxia, TBI etc. That I discovered by complete 100 percent accident -it was developed as an ayurvedic way to support the metabolic system of any " dosha " -to gently help rid the body of excess ama and pounds if needed, and to nourish and support lean muscle if needed. It is not unknown that most in the West even if overweight are undernourished. I have shared numerous times that I discovered a year ago that NV has much greater affects on our children due to my son Tanner -I shared it with others, and again it's been a year now and these are just a few of the testimonies http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html and this one I just put up for seizures http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15306 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15306 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15306 & post=93938 & uid=115029735601#post9\ 3938> & post=93938 & uid=115029735601#post93938> & post=93938 & uid=115029735601#post93938 There is no doubt in my mind that it will be validated for any one of a number of reasons -many linked to science and even cutting edge research -that NV will be proven to help with neuro repair amongst other functions. I suspect there are nutrients in it that are missing from our diets for many reasons. Again two links on this http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html and http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15272 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15272 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15272 & uid=115029735601> & uid=115029735601> & uid=115029735601 Here's a sheet you can share with your child's doc -we are working on updating the sites, putting together new ones based on so much more information -but I'm sure for now this is still good enough as it has been so far even before we had all the success we have had with NV -and with no side effects other than occasionally just like with fish oils the child may be for about a week a bit more " hyper " ...some however who reported that came back later and changed it to more " aware " But either way - much in the way of surges even with that if it happens. http://pursuitofresearch.org/NutriiVeda_Information.pdf To the best I can right now -here are your answers. Please feel free to call me direct EST 772 335 5135 as I have spoken with various professionals and parents and probably have heard just about every question imaginable at this point. Once you do your research whether you decide to use NV or not with your child is of course your decision -but I'm already beyond that....to me -it's a shame that one wouldn't even try this (which is why I tell people that are skeptical to take it to a top PhD in medicine and nutrition!) because as we know from recent news the average US family feeds their child a diet that contains 40% of it's calories from junk food. http://www.themoneytimes.com/featured/20101004/study-finds-us-children-get-40-th\ eir-calories-junk-food-id-10130575.html So honestly I don't care what the average US parent thinks at this point. I again know this will be validated based on what I've seen in my own children -14 and 16, the reports back from both of their schools, the friends I have who have children on it, the parents in this group...and I'm not even going into everything but this doesn't just work for neuro conditions (diabetes- OMG!!! my friend who is an internal medical doctor out of St Barnabas in NJ Dr Ross who is type 2 diabetic is off her insulin 100 percent (!!) on NV) Answers: 1. There is no soy in NV -in fact that was one of the first things picked up by the nutritionists I shared this with -that the product is pretty much void of any of the common allergens -casein, soy, nuts etc. 2. Each ingredients in NV (please see both chocolate and vanilla here) http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html are certified as " foods " by the FDA. The nutrients, ie: all the nutrients including vitamins and essential amino acids, are not added -they are there in the food. That is why it's considered whole food supplementation. You are not getting the essential amino acids in isolation -you are getting an isolate that is of the top quality probably in the world (and if you doubt me -please check with the top nutritional experts you know -try to find a 100 percent natural casein free whey isolate alone...anywhere!!) Here is the ingredients from chocolate NV -again each one of them are foods in themselves. Whey Protein Isolates (Amino Acids: Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Cystin, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Thereonine, Trytophan, Tyrosine, Valine), Rice Life powder (Brown Rice), Natural Cocoa Powder, Apple Fiber, Organic Cane Sugar, Proprietary Ayurvedic Blend (Guggul, Amalaki, Green Tea, Haritaki, Turmeric, Gymnerma, Cayenne Pepper), Xanthan Gum, Stevia, L-Taurine, L-Theanine. Whole food supplementation is the purest form of supplementation -the most easily digestible by the body. Clearly based on the overwhelming and dramatic across the board results we are seeing the essential amino acids or whatever is in NV that is working is not so delicate that it can't be mixed into frosting or frozen into a Popsicle or even baked into Rice Krispy treats http://pursuitofresearch.org/serving_suggestions.html that it won't work. Again appears to be working for most -but the biggest problem is because children are so used to high fat, sodium and sugar " foods " is getting this fat, sodium, casein, caffeine free product with only 2 grams of organic sugar into a child! But most of us do...doctor it up -mix it with Hershey syrup if you must -but I have never ever seen anything work with the speed and percentage across the board. I hope this helps but please don't hesitate to ask more questions. I know I dug this apart when I first looked at it -but I highly encourage you not to look just here for answers -but to find them in real medical doctors that you know and trust -because then you like me will break the hypnotic trance we all seem to be held in that makes us so suspicious of something that is formulated by a world renowned medical doctor that is all natural -but won't even wonder what the " butter " is made of at the movie theater...well you probably don't ever use that because hydrogenated coconut oil with artificial butter flavoring is typically used to pop the kernals, and there’s an artificial-butter-flavored topping available that is composed largely of hydrogenated soybean oil. Oh and PS -Bill Farley the owner of the company http://www.meetbillfarley.com and all the doctors including Dr. Simon and Dr. Chopra whom I met and who are just as wonderful as Dr. Simon appears in this video < <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrA1hA-_3-g & feature=related> & feature=related> & feature=related know about what is going on in this group and are thrilled -but nothing can be said by the company until there is research -which again there will be. But our website is approved by all and I was told by the wonderful Mr. Bill Farley to " keep doing what I'm doing " in sharing. And please do look up his background- I'm sure you'll understand why I have no doubt in my mind this will be validated!!!! (hint -solid Billionaire since the 80s) If you do decide to try NV -please support Cherab as we are raising monies for PUFA research too (again don't think we'll need to raise monies for NV research!) here's how you can help http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 <http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=14809> & topic=14809> & topic=14809 Warm regards, (and since I brought up ayurveda...Namaste =====

Guest guest
Hi Meeta, This is a nutritional misunderstanding that is expected. The yeast in NV is food based and inactive and can even be ingested by one with active candida. If you speak with a medical or nutritional expert they will explain that this is the purest way of getting the nutrients chromium, molybdenum, iodine, selenium, and manganese from food sources. Here's the info on our FAQ page My child is yeast sensitive so I’m curious why there is yeast in NutriiVeda? The chromium, molybdenum, iodine, selenium, and manganese yeast are all inactive and could be taken even by someone who has a Candida problem. They are there as a natural way to get the nutrients chromium, molybdenum, iodine, selenium, and manganese. http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html The hyperness is not an unusual report in this group -however if your child is autistic some including the professionals that work with the child have said upon closer inspection it is more of an awareness than a hyperness -as if one was in a dark room where the lights were just put on and suddenly you notice the toys and other people etc. (in fact for all we know that is exactly what is going on!) The " hyper " stage lasts about a week, but it shouldn't stop you from seeing the surges at the same time. You may want to give it more than 2 days however -surges are usually seen in a day to 3 days -and look in all these areas http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html The only concern would be if the child is constipated which would be a sign of not enough hydration for the natural detox. Make sure your child is hydrated which is also on the FAQ page. In general take body weight and divide in half and that is an approximate amount of liquid in ounces needed daily -but keep in mind there is liquid in foods even crackers and bread. The amount of liquid recommended is not just for when a child is on NV -it's what is recommended for health reasons. NV is very dosage dependent and make sure the child is regular. Also stop all other supps other than fish oils (essential fatty acids) that are not medically necessary as they may contradict at worst- be a waste of money at best. If your child is being treated with long term anti viral and fungal medications as some here are -you may want to think of seeking a second opinion and look into side effects of long term drug use on the body of your child. If it were me I would try a trial of just using NV -but give it at least a week once off all the medication as they will of course mess up the metabolic system even more. Hope that helps! =====

Guest guest
Read this on somewhere... Was searching for NV side effects since saw some mood swings in my son after starting NV. Any comments?  NutriiVeda Side Effects Green Tea is a powerful stimulant that has been known to assist in weight loss.  Green Tea also has many side effects due to the caffeine contained in the supplement.  Caffeine increases heart rate, and may cause anxiety, restlessness, and may cause some people to have difficulty sleeping. Due to the fact that ingredients are listed, but the amounts aren’t, I am unable to accurately portray other potential side effects of this product.   From: ckrupa <catherine.krupa@...> Subject: Re: [ ]NV Date: Tuesday, November 23, 2010, 3:18 PM I actually thought NV caused more yeast in my son when we first started but now I think it was actually die off... Guest guest
Meeta not sure where you found this but there is no caffeine at all in Nutriiveda. Just to rule the rest out as we already covered the yeast issue and it being the purest natural food source of the nutrients provided in inactive yeast...NV is 100 percent free of fat, sodium, gluten, casein, caffeine, stimulants, preservatives, and synthetics. It is 100 percent water soluble and 100 percent natural and all the nutrients are 100 percent from food. In addition each food ingredient is tested free of heavy metals, herbicides and pesticides -so an extremely clean food source. If your child had a change in mood it's probably due to increase in neurotransmitter production as we know both fish oils and NV help with this =and that's awesome! The " bad " side effects we've learned with fish oils for over a decade now are actually good (as Kathy also points out below) because to me the worst side effect with NV- is no change at all- that it doesn't work. You now know the change isn't from the inactive yeast. You can also rule out it's from caffeine as there is no caffeine at all in Nutriiveda. There are the benefits of the green tea without the caffeine. Green tea has many health benefits including it's a powerful antioxidant that contains high concentrated levels of EGCG that neutralize toxic free radicals within the body. It also works to protect the DNA and regulate blood sugar levels. I have information up on the nutritional label at both sites -but again soon the ..org site will be the .com site so the links I am providing may not work soon as there will be new links- but as long as you remember to just to to the main page you'll be able to find all once we switch it all! On the second link please click on the nutritional label for chocolate or vanilla (or I believe you have the canister to read Meeta?) http://pursuitofresearch.com/products/nutriiveda/ http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html If the changes are that horrible that you can't stand it -lower the dosage. Make sure the child is hydrated too. Is your child regular? How long has this been going on and how extreme is it? It shouldn't be more than cranky, sassy- not anything that a stranger would view as unusual behavior for a child of your child's age. And again with fish oils surges typically don't happen until this stage is over which is about a week -with NV we see surges with this stage. Hope that helps! =====
Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. He is also making lot of faces these days. Moves his jaws, tounge. Makes his eyes small. I have read in this forum that kids act as if they discover their tounge for the first time. I guess making faces like my son does is part of discovering tounge. Yes, I see surge, he is babbling a lot. He is imitating quite a few words now. Not on sentences yet. Also there is not improvement in eye contacts. I was hoping to see more eye contacts... Anyways, I am hopefull lets see what happens. I just hope improvements dont stop after a week or two... (I saw good signs after removing milk from his diet, but then it didnt do anything good later.) Guest guest
My son has been on NV for almost three weeks. We have seen no surges in language or motor development. The only surge has been in hyperactivity( laughing nervously, screaming, running, and unable to stay focused on a task). I increased the amount to 1 scoop which is his daily recommended amount. School and home environment are reporting the same observations. Clearly, NV does not work for every child but at least we gave it a shot. There are side effects, again different with each child.  Please consult with your pediatrician, I have during this trial and he now recommends to stop using NV. Good luck, Missie W. Guest guest
Hi Missie,  Sorry you are not seeing any results after 3 weeks. I know that for my daughter, she had diarrhia for about 2 weeks once we started and this to me was detox. I wonder if your son's system is hyper due to the amino acids that are feuling up his system/brain now. For what it,s worth, I know that sometimes our kids lack in specific areas and this settles down when that system or what is lacking is fuelled up.  Maybe try it again during the Christmas Break from school and see how he fairs and also see if he is drinking enough water.  All the best, Demi From: ckrupa <catherine.krupa@...> Subject: Re: [ ]NV Date: Tuesday, November 23, 2010, 3:18 PM I actually thought NV caused more yeast in my son when we first started but now I think it was actually die off... Guest guest
Hi Missie, We went through this for years with fish oils where after awhile we came to the conclusion that the worse side effect was none- it's clear that NV at one scoop did have an affect even if it's one that is negative. There are too many reasons it could be why he didn't change as most do after one week but it's probably one of the following; 1. His neurotransmitters have increased and his body is sensitive to them still. 2. He is sensitive to the natural rise (from the whey and botanicals) in the antioxidant glutathione..which is critical for the body to excrete metals and other toxins. So after a week of not seeing a change your choice is to 1. Continue at the same dosage 2. Reduce the dosage 3. Stop Typically as it's a simple thing -food therapy that is, you want to see if all is working right as far as elimination. Good would be is he regular? And as long as they are not loose but just soft (and typically foul smelling for the detox time in the first few weeks) Is there an increase in the bowels movements? Or on the negative is he constipated with a decrease? But if you continue at the one scoop a day for 3 weeks...split in half; 1/2 scoop and 1/2 scoop would be better than all at once. I'd decrease the dosage to even 1/4 a scoop twice a day rather than stop something that clearly is having a rather dramatic effect on your child. Not working means you see no change. Again we learned this with the fish oils. I'm not saying you want your child unfocused and laughing and running all the time, but you can reduce the dosage and then gradually increase. Or you can stop...and maybe try again later -or just never know. Not working means no change. =====
Guest guest
I just spoke with the mom of a 2 kids with autism yesterday about this -her daughter like your son is 7 and has both autism and apraxia, and her son has just autism. She has her daughter on 2 scoops a day (let me know the dosage you are using and let me know if it's heaping or not) and her son only on a scoop and a half for some reason (but she's now raising it to 2 scoops as it's dosage dependent in most cases http://pursuitofresearch.org/products/nutriiveda/frequently_asked_questions/ ) First I'll give you the background and then tell you my theory on the stimming which I believe will take a few months to resolve from what I have seen as typically that is due to sensory input and NV doesn't work on the sensory system first in most. Her daughter is the one that has so far had the more dramatic surges in just the past week. She isn't speaking spontaneously yet but Sheetal told me that for the first time ever she is able to repeat back even long sentences. Also she's a " crier " and typically once she starts crying it takes at least 45 minutes to calm her down. Her dad went into a store and she started with her typical crying and as always Sheetal tried to calm her down right away -and this time instead of continuing to cry she listened to her mom as she said that her dad would be back in 5 minutes and then asked her daughter " so how long do you think it will be until Daddy comes back " and her daughter said " 5 minutes " (!!!!) Also she said that her daughter has trouble with writing anything small due to her fine motor impairment and she gave her letters to copy into very small boxes and she did it perfectly! And again this is all in the first week...but she too still stims. Her son she hasn't noticed anything yet -or anything dramatic- but he's again not on the full dosage so she's going to bring that up and then get back to me next week. But what I suspect is that there is something going on helping in some way neurologically. What you can do is make sure the fish oils are consistent as we know that they do help as well with sensory issues, and play with the NV dosage. Try going a wee bit lower or higher. I wouldn't stop either the fish oils or the NV unless you know the nutrients from them are being acquired in the diet as they both contain essential nutrients. And that reminds me -Sheetal was shocked that NV had such an effect (even on her as she tried it too and felt better) as she gets all their food from an organic food they examine prior to buying and does not allow her children to eat anything synthetic -everything is organic. In addition her family is from India so the ayurvedic botanicals found in NV are all in her children's diets anyway. So I recall speaking to her prior to her starting saying that she didn't think it would work because she figured most of the kids it's working for had poor diets. I knew that wasn't true from my son Tanner alone. If you want I can put you in touch with Sheetal. Email me at @... and I can introduce you via email. I'm not even sure if she's a member of this group as at this point the word is spreading to other organizations. But as you have kids the same age with similar surges you can share! And by the way -I would love for someone, parent or professional, from India to write up a page at http://www.pursuitofresearch.org to explain the foods in NV that are not known to most in the US!!! People are always afraid of what they don't understand- even when it's good for them or their kids. And...that's why I tell people to share it with their doctors http://pursuitofresearch.org/find-a-professional/because they approve it because NV is 100 percent food based 'clean' nutrition. =====
Guest guest
- I will chime in here, as I've been meaning to post. I've had my son on two heaping scoops of chocolate NV for three weeks now. I also give him EFA & EPA 3x a day in 2:1 ratio. First, the negative. We have experienced aggression and it's still with us. This seems to come up at appropriate times, when I'm pushing him on a task or when he can't make something work. This is new for us, so hoping it's a negative that actually is a good sign? Either way, I hope it passes soon! Second, our stimming hasn't decreased yet. But third, we're seeing some overall gains in problem solving, motor skills, language & comprehension. And while our stimming isn't really decreased, I'm having a slightly easier time engaging him in activities (he's homeschooled), and he doesn't stim while he's doing his work. So in that sense, he is spending less time stimming. We've also had a few instances where he's appropriately been entertaining himself. This is huge for us, and I hope the start of something big, because our battle for years has been that if we aren't engaging him, he's stimming. So I'm very happy and optimistic. We're definitely continuing and I'm wondering if I should eventually up the dosage to three scoops. He is 7 1/2.
