Guest guest
(Salt Lake, UT) -- Researchers may be one step closer to diagnosing autism with a brain scan. Using MRI, doctors discovered certain areas of the brain where the left and right hemispheres don't communicate with each other. The areas are associated with attention, facial recognition and social functioning - skills that people with autism struggle with. " Once we begin to know what is going on in the brain, that helps point the direction of what can be done about it, " explains Dr. Janet Lainhart, a professor at the University of Utah. Scientists are launching larger studies to confirm the results. video http://ozarksfirst.com/fulltext?nxd_id=339406
