Larry Silver, Boese and myself were participants in this project. Thank you, Maureen Swanson ANNOUNCEMENT Leading members of the Learning and Developmental Disabilities Initiative (LDDI), along with other colleagues in the environmental health field, will release a new biomonitoring report: Mind, Disrupted: How Toxic Chemicals May Affect How We Think and Who We Are this Thursday, February 4th. The official press release will occur just prior to a Senate Hearing on chemical policy reform that will take place Thursday morning as well. Note that the Senate Hearing will be audio-streamed live (more information below). The Mind, Disrupted report and related fact sheets will be available to the public on the website (http://www.minddisrupted.org) as of 9:00 AM Eastern on Thursday. We hope many of you will access the new report on the website and listen to the Senate Hearing, which starts at 10:00 AM Eastern. Here are the important details for all of Thursday's events: 9:15 AM EST: Press only teleconference: LDDI colleagues who participated in the biomonitoring study will present on a press only teleconference to release the Mind, Disrupted report. Speakers will include: Maureen Swanson, the Healthy Children Project Coordinator of the Learning Disabilities Association of America; Jeff Sell, Esq., father of twin sons with autism and Vice President for Policy of the Autism Society of America; and Larry Silver, MD, past president of the Learning Disabilities Association of America, clinical psychiatrist and author of the Understanding and Coping with Your Child's Learning Disabilities. 10:00 AM EST: Senate Hearing: Senator R. Lautenberg (D-NJ), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Superfund, Toxics, and Environmental Health, will convene a hearing to examine the current science on public exposures to toxic chemicals.
