Guest guest
Hi All, I started my son, Mason on NV 2 weeks ago. Here is a little background on him.He understands everything you tell him. He knows his shapes, colors, numbers 1-10 and his abc's. He is coloring and cutting. He will be 4 in December and currently receives speech 3 times per week in the preK at our elementary school, PT 1 day per week. He also receives 1 private speech and 1 private OT per week. He was diagnosed in June of 2009 with severe verbal aparxia, moderate oral apraxia, low tone in the trunk, fine and gross motor delays and sensory issues. (he jumps and rubs his fingers together when things excite him). At the time his speech was equal to a 10 month old. He was 30 months old. He had about 5 words that only his family could understand. He made very slow progress until this summer(July). We began Nordic Naturals PRO EFA and EPA. His list of single words grew and he began to be more focused and started to ride his tricycle. He would put a couple of words together like: go bye etc. But mostly single words. We started NV 2 weeks ago. His speech is exploding. He is putting lots of 2 words together and even has said a couple of 3 word phrases and even said a 4 word phrase. It really is AMAZING!! These have been completely on his own without our prompting. His focus and motor planing is improving as well. He normally can't do multiple hand motions with songs. His teacher told me on Wed that he was able to do all the hand motions to a song that he has never been able to do before. I am so glad that we made the decision to try NV. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner.

Guest guest
My son just started NV yesterday. I am hopeful for the surges and will keep you all posted for improvement.  Some background on my son. He has autism, seizure disorder, and apraxia. He is eight years old with some cognitive delays. He has verbal behavior therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy daily. His hours of therapy currently are 10-20 hours a week. The new variable in his routine is the verbal therapy. We just updated his program and his school is implementing the VB program at school. The VB program has been in place for about a month so this will be a consideration if I see surges.  My son's early intervention has been extensive with the Kaufman Center, ABA, vitamin therapies, speech, physical, and occupational therapy. He has been in early intervention since 3 months of age. With all this being said, I hope for a surge with NV and I am hopeful my son with benefit from this " trial " . Again, I hope NV makes a believer out of me!  Thanks, Missie  From: marymejia@... <marymejia@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Started NV 2 weeks ago; Surges Date: Friday, November 12, 2010, 8:58 AM  Wow.
