Hi All,

On Sept 7th, a week after moving back home to the SF Bay Area after a year

abroad, we learned my 2.5 year old son has apraxia (and SPD, Hypotonia). We

immediately got him into speech therapy 3 days a week, preschool 2 half days a

week, and OT 1 day a week. We have also done hair tests, stool tests, and blood

work to try to discover if there is more we could be doing to help him but

nothing notable has come of any of these tests. We have an upcoming sleep study

since he has always been a super restless one. On Oct 3rd we started him on

Nordic Naturals EFA and Omegas. On Oct 24th we started him on a half scoop of

Nutriiveda.

We felt like we noticed a few more words than usual in the days following but

today I think it was confirmed that we've got something positive going on. His

preschool was all abuzz about his words on Tuesday. Three of the four teachers

had to run over and tell me about it when I picked him up. Today (Thursday) they

were so eager to share with me that he had " a language explosion " . Of course, I

needed more details and so they began telling me example after example of what

he had said (and several two word combos) and how it was appropriate for the

context and blah, blah, blah. Needless to say I was and am THRILLED.

Our SLP, whom we adore, said he is doing really well and she can now tell that

he is making more consistent mistakes with his words. Which is a good thing

because she can better target those particular sounds in their sessions.

Anyway, just wanted to share my little anecdotal. :)

Kind regards,

Mom to Jack (2 yrs, 8 mo) and Jane (8 mo)
