Guest guest
HI Robin, Welcome to the list. I just had to write you and tell you about my daughter, who had the great good fortune to be diagnosed early with her OCD, at age 5. The things you have written about your relationship with your daughter struck me so deeply as being so like our situation before diagnosis. Like Kathy H. and others have stressed, there is much hope before you. Two years ago I was angry at my little daughter nearly every day! She clung to me like velcro and it got to the point where I couldn't even carry on a conversation with others during my daughter's waking hours. How well I understand the anger you describe and the intense feelings of suffocation and frustration. I used to look longingly at the other little babies who would sit calmly in their strollers and watch the world go by, while mine was non-stop fussing and demanding eye contact, singing, holding, talking, etc. every moment. andra exhibited a great deal of anxiety from her toddler years on and was very nearly diagnosed with separation anxiety. However, the first therapist I went to was a sharp diagnostician and ultimately realized that my daughter feared separating from me because I was her one and only comfort and coping mechanism against the OCD, which was the eventual diagnosis. She now does CBT therapy and takes Prozac. OCD is an incredible challenge for her each day but I can truthfully say that, with treatment, she is truly happy, possibly for the first time in her short life. This wonderful list was an incredible source of information for us and I hope it will be for you, too. Take care, Lesli (San Francisco Bay)
Guest guest
Hi Robin, Best of luck to you and Carly at Montessori school. Her desire to overcome her separation anxiety at school is a wonderful motivator and perhaps the most important ingredient for success. It sounds as if you have made some good progress in spite of the tactile defensiveness with clothing. Remember--it's often two steps forward, one step back so focus on the forward movement! My daughter Kelsey had recurrent scary dreams of fire for years before OCD onset. These were brought on by some canyon wildires that came very close to our home and wiped out a number of homes in our area. She also had a fear of volcanoes based on nothing that I could understand, even refusing to step foot on Mount Hood when we were in Oregon last winter, because it " used to be " a volcano. Since CBT though, I haven't heard about fire dreams in almost a year. I'll have to check in about the volcanoe phobia with her. Take care, in San Diego
Guest guest
HI Robin, As said, I too think Carly's desire to be at school will work greatly in her favor. My own formerly very timid daughter is highly motivated by peer pressure. (This is great now, but scares me to think about her teen years!) andra is now six and a half, and experienced moderate to severe tactile defensiveness from ages two to five. I would now classify her tactile problems as mild. In our case, CBT did not work for her tactile issues with clothing, even though it has and does work beautifully for her OCD. I'm not sure what has lessened her tactile defensiveness: Prozac, increased maturity, some mystery force, or a combination of all three. Perhpas now that treatment for OCD has greatly lowered her overall anxiety, she is better able to tolerate the tactile stuff. My husband has the same issues with clothing, but manages to survive through a combination of 100% cotton clothes and very expensive shoes! ( Hang in there Robin, it will improve. Congratulations to you and Carly for all your hard work. Take care, Lesli (San Francisco Bay)

Guest guest
Robin, I've thought of something else. Do you know what an F-Scan is? It's a device that has Dr. 's and the Rife frequencies on it. When you expose a living thing to it's own frequency, you kill it. That is what the Zapper does for parasites, and the F-Scan and the Rife Machine do it for a wider range of things. The F-Scan can run a scan of your body and list what the most common frequencies are in your body. (In other words, living entities in your body). Then you set it to that frequency, and basically " zap. " You could do this for flukes, worms, and bacteria. I have the link if you want it. I posted it before. If you tell me what state you live in, (you can e-mail me privately), I can try to find out on the Rife group or from Amrein of the Dr. Association, who has one of these devices and if they would be willing to hook you up to it to kill your tapeworm. The tapeworms are in one frequency range, like 444 KHz's, so you could be sure of what you're targeting. I don't know what kind of die off symptoms you would expereince once the thing is dead.... Let me know if you want me to ask. I think the essiac tea may take too long, and I question if it really does work on something that size. I don't know, but the above is another shot. I just remember having the hip pain. I suppose on some months one side was worse than the other side (I know that doesn't exactly answer the question, but it's been a while, thankfully, since I've had that particular pain). Since taking the Topamax, the spasming has been sooooo much better and it's really been quite some time since I've had to have a pyraformis injection. Sorry sweetie, just can't remember but I suppose it's possible...

Guest guest
Hello Tonia, Good to hear from you. Did you gain much weight when you where pregnant? It sounds like you had a healthy babygirl. My daughter had her little girl on May 7th. That mad number 6. She seems to be doing good with her weight. I am still not as good as I should be but its not from eating to much. I can't eat much. My band is as tight as it can be. I'll get it off but, I need this year to get it off. I do wish he had not put a large band on me. What did you do when you got the flu? Are you able to throw up? I am suppose to have a total knee replacement in Aug and I am wondering if I can have surgery and if I will get sick will the band effect that when they put me to sleep for surgery. G'Day, Robin Send me a note back.Tonia Telles <toniatelles@...> wrote: Robin,Sorry to hear you aren't doing as well as you had hoped. Maybe the diabetes has something to do with it? I had my daughter back on Feb 9, her name is Olivia Rose and I don;t mean to brag too much but you could not tell I even had a baby the day I walked out of the hospital. I have been really successful with my band, but maybe you are having a hard time because you had the larger band? Also, I wasn't sick because I was overfilled, I actually had a flu so I feel much better now! Hi Tonia, So you had your baby. 9 months goes by fast. I still haven't gotten to my goal and it has been a year and I am working on my 2 year. I have only lost 30 lbs and now I can't seem to lose anymore. I keep working at it but, I am still injecting alot of insulin and taking close to 20 meds a day. Nothing much has changed except People tell me I look good. What did you have? A Girl or a boy? So you are at your weight goal. I went to get several fills and I can't eat much so I must be eating the wrong thing. I can eat just about everything except not bread. The last time I was filled they told me that they couldn't fill me anymore but, I don't feel tight. I do however throw up sometimes. I am not sure what my problem is but I want to lose another 50 lbs. Glad to hear you are at your goal. Robin I lived in Las Vegas and now live in Oregon.toniatelles <toniatelles > wrote: I was doing fine. My last fill was April 2007 then I got pregnant and had a baby in February. Guest guest
Robin - looking forward to hearing how the evaluation goes Monday! I have reached out to Betsy Fester (I think that's her name) and am going to talk to her about what she does, etc. After your evaluation depending on how things go I may reach out to your therapist as well! I know money is no issue with our kids - but unfortuantely Betsy doesn't take Medicaide, so if I can find someone who does and is a good PROMPT therapist then I will for sure reach to them! Our insurance bites, and when you have a child who needs all 3 (PT, ST, OT) and multiple hours a week of it, the 30 total sessions Insurance allows goes really fast! But again - if I have to, we will find a way to pay for it - anything for my baby! Becca goes in for Tube Surgery (2nd go around) on Monday, so I'm hoping once that is taken care of things will improve more for her! Look forward to hearing from you Monday! Good luck!
