Guest guest
Hi Jodi. I have given NV in 2 forms. One we only use vanilla NV. We use 1% milk with one scoop of NV and strawberry syrup. The other, someone here recommended Boltheshouse. Or something like that. I use the banana strawberry smoothie with equal parts orange juice and a little water to make it more thinner. One scoop of NV and they finish within minutes. Hope that helps. All my boys had the same problem where they refused it. I paused it for a week and started full force and have seen so many changes. I have noticed after reading people adding digestive enzimes that it does help with surges. Good luck. . (Mother of triplet 3.5yr olds : one apraxic) Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerry [ ] help to get child to take NV I have tried several ways of giving NV to my daughter (age 5). She doesn't like the taste. I've mixed it with soy milk as well as with almond milk. I've also blended it with one of those and added a touch of chocolate syrup to enhance the chocolatey flavor. In the end it takes like a rich milkshake, but she still refuses to drink it (so I have been drinking it - at least it is not going to waste). Her refusal is a bit perplexing because she used to be willing to take fish oil mixed with orange juice, which I thought was disgusting. I now have both chocolate and vanilla flavors, and am willing to try again. I did notice that it does not mix well at all with regular milk, so I won't try that again. What else does it mix with well? It would be nice to not have to use the blender because of the cleanup required, but I'm willing if I can find a formula she'll actually eat or drink. Bring on the NV recipes! Thanks! Jodi in AZ mom to 3 kids with special needs
Guest guest
Hi Jodi I mix both NV and the fish oils with yogurt - my son likes it with mango yogurt and it seems to bind it all together really well. He eats it happily and is almost 3 years old. Hope that helps Mawgan On 1 December 2010 16:28, jodi <ivyredgirl@...> wrote: > > > I have tried several ways of giving NV to my daughter (age 5). Guest guest
I posted about the same time you did today. We were having lots of problems with mixing the latest shipment of Nutriiveda, but we just started using a hand stick mixer. It fits in the cup and it is super easy cleanup. It mixes the NV beautifully. My son was refusing it this month prior to the mixer. I might try that if I were you. I will probably try the smoothie suggestion someone else offered as well. Good luck. > > I have tried several ways of giving NV to my daughter (age 5). She doesn't > like the taste. Guest guest
We had troubles getting my now 2 yr old son to accept NV in many forms when we started in Sept. The winner for us: a mango smoothie. Put several slices of fresh or frozen mango in the blender, add the NV powder (we use vanilla), add a bit of water (we are only doing 1/2 scoop of NV right now so we do a small amt of mango and 1/4 cup of water but you can adjust these for larger NV doses), and blend. Pour in cup and serve with thick straw. Never a problem eating this - he loves it. Somehow the mango really masks the vanilla NV. It is a pain to deal with the blender, but now we just keep it on the counter, wash out the glass part after making it, and it's not been as much of a pain as expected. - On Wed, Dec 1, 2010 at 6:39 PM, tojumiel <tojumiel@...> wrote: > > > I posted about the same time you did today.
