Hi All,

I have updated the Excel based Oil Analysis spreadsheet with more oils, fats

and foods. You can now enter your own

daily data and have an individualized CVDR (Cardio Vascular Disease Risk)

calculated based on the amount (in grams) of

each of the oils, fats & foods you consume and the amount of long chain mono and

poly double bond rich fatty acids these

oils, fat & foods contain.

This is more representative than just using fixed 100 g amounts as some fatty

acids are very necessary for Optimal

Health but highly peroxidation sensitive, such as Omega 3 EPA and DHA where you

only need a total of 0.6 g per day. The

spreadsheet also calculates total fat, calories and Omega 6 intake. Of course

other foods contain some of these fatty

acids, so this is not to be consider totally accurate but more a guide to select

oils, fats & foods to include in your

diet.

I would strongly suggest holding total Omega 6 to less than 3 grams as you will

get some more from veggie & nut sources

as well as commercial foods made using Omega 6 rich veggie oils.

The files are on the CrSociety site, which allows public access of it's
