Guest guest
I am reading so many good things here that I am dying to put my 3 year old ASD son on Nutriveda but when I did he got a rash and behaviors because he can't dgest glutens and casein. I may try again and see if we can get beyong behaviors and rash. Can someone tell me what I can expect anyway on nutriveda? Will he be aggressive, hyper or have behaviors for the first 2 weeks or so and then it dissipates? What have you guys seen with your kids that aren't gluten free and casein free? Also, someone put in a plug to have them make a GFCF Nutriveda. Huge market out there for it! Thanks, Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T [ ] Possible Age of Autism article on nutriiveda -seeking interviews If your child has been on the nutriiveda we are seeking your permission for the editor of Age of Autism to contact you via phone. At this point I'm guessing any diagnosis your child has is fine and will probably all be covered in the interview. If you would like to participate please email me your phone number at lisa@... and put " Age of Autism article " in the subject. Gretchen I believe this is a great opportunity for you to share 's updates with Kent Heckenlively, Legal Editor of Age of Autism, and perhaps arrange with him some sort of interview on the CBS news if possible? He will be starting his daughter on it once it arrives by pony express! Robin I believe this is a great opportunity for you to share Mel's story!! Actually there are so many amazing updates...I mean 12 months to 21 months in about 2 weeks -and you are stopping it for a neuro eval so you can secure appropriate placement and services and can report what you see on off and then on again! Sharon you just posted a very precise update of what you have seen in so many areas. I don't want to leave anyone out because I know there have been so many -but if you want to share we want you to share!! Thank you! Again if you would like to participate in the article by sharing your experience with Kent what you have seen since starting the nutriiveda which can help bring other children (of all ages) a voice too please email me your phone number at lisa@... For more brief info on nutriiveda for those that are new please visit http://www.pursuitofresearch.org or our apraxia.org site for a page of some of the anecdotal reports so far http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=13047 and to read Mel's blog you can visit http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/about Thanks! =====
Guest guest
nutriiveda is gluten and casein free. If you check the archives there are others here who have children that are on GFCF diets on the product -very sensitive to milk and doing great. The search isn't working well but I will be one of the people compiling the messages so we can have them to share. From memory I believe your son was only on the nutriiveda for 2 days and you pulled him off due to a rash on his belly? From what I found that rash could have been from the detox - which may not have been a bad thing if that is what it was. ADVERSE REACTIONS Gastrointestinal bloating and cramps can occur if the product is not sufficiently rehydrated. Transient urticarial-like rash has been seen in rare individuals undergoing severe detoxification reaction. Such rashes were found to abate when product intake is stopped or reduced. http://www.drugs.com/pdr/whey-protein-isolate.html Make sure the child drinks enough water/liquid -you can reduce or stop nutriiveda too. As far as behaviors -we learned for years with the fish oils and once again are learning with the nutriiveda that " bad " behaviors in the first week seem to be normal and then they stop -but more important appear to be a good sign. Some of our special needs children don't go through the normal developmental stages of " terrible twos " or " oral exploration " etc. But since you stopped I believe after only 2 days it's hard to know what would be best for you to do. You should probably check with his doctor. Nutriiveda is formulated and endorsed by leading medical doctors -on the front home page of the Chopra.com website and it is I have been assured numerous times gluten and casein free. And again -my own mother has celiac -I grew up with it and know you have to be careful -but this is OK for that. The only person I would not advice it for is someone who has a true milk allergy to the protein because there 'may' be trace amounts of the protein even though they took every effort to remove every aspect in an all natural way. I believe it was .009 percent of the milk protein may be in it? Also to get a 100 percent natural whey isolate protein- that is what impresses many of the nutritional experts I share it with. As you may have read from a previous post of mine -some/most are made with chemicals. It's my understanding that the protein in the nutriiveda, 100 percent natural, gluten and casein free/GFCF, fat and sodium free, is as pure as you can get in an isolate. Let us know what your child's doc says. =====
Guest guest
I may not be popular in my thoughts, but if my child was GFCF I would not try Nutriiveda unless I have food allergy bloodwork stating my child had no problems/sensitivies/allergies or other with WHEY (probably from www.foodallergy.com) Most people who do GFCF cut Whey as well as it is the other protein in dairy. Just wanted to put it out there, it's my 0.02 and thats what it's worth Mer Mama to Lulu Belle Aunt Sweetie to 2 PDD-NOS Nephews (one of which is recovered - both with various food allergies) > > I am reading so many good things here that I am dying to put my 3 year old ASD son on Nutriveda but when I did he got a rash and behaviors because he can't dgest glutens and casein.
