Guest guest
This morning started like every other day... I made Isaac his PB & J with fish oil in it. He began watching the Super Y show (super readers). Anyway, through the show Super Y's baby sister said her first word, which was, " Y " , her older brother's name. Isaac walked over to me and said, " Baby, Y! " . He didn't say, " said " but, I got what he was saying! Then later in the show when the pig was using the alphabet to build a bridge, he put up all the letters of the alphabet up and asked the kids watching the show to point out where the letter b was. Before the show explained where the B was, Isaac pointed to it!!! Then he pointed to the R, the I, D, G and E!!! I didn't even KNOW he could identify letters in the alphabet so I was completely shocked! He even did the sounds that went along with them. I am SO proud of him! He is starting to put two word sentences together. He has been doing, " more bread " as well and doing the signs as he says it. He is much more vocal and doing many more signs. On a more sober note, sadly, he is resisting the NV more than ever. But, I believe this is a " good " sign in a way, because I can see the wheels turning in his head on how to outsmart me! I guess I should be worried if he just layed there like a limp fish, fussing and didn't do anything, but, he's learning to push the sippy cup " nipple " out with his tongue (which is excellent exercise by the way) or he will just bite down on the nipple and not allow any juice to pass through. He is much more aware now, which may be part of his resistence towards it. This morning I sat with him for nearly 3 hours until it was all gone (thankfully I put TWO scoops in it!). I guess it's a good thing that I'm a stay at home mom and don't have many places to be. :-( I am determined though to make sure he gets all of his two scoops in him per day. I just hope this passes soon. I hope he begins drinking it on his own again. I am seeing such improvement in him, I don't want it to stop. I am going to San Diego the 21st thru the 24th and wonder if my husband and mom will be able to get it in him while I'm gone. I worry about that, but, as it is now, he is doing better than great. He is communicating much better in both sign language combined with speech AND identifying the letters of the alphabet! I'm so excited about what I'll see next!
