Several organizations (NJCIE, Family Link-REIC; NJDOE-OSEP, Montclair State

University's Graduate Program in Inclusive Early Childhood Education and the

American Academy of Pediatrics, NJ Chapter) came together to develop a

half-day conference for parents of children with disabilities, 0-5 years,

for Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Montclair State University.

It is going to be a terrific conference with information on inclusion, the

law, and feature panels of parents whose children are included and students

who have been included. See information below.

Thanks very much,

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Here's how...

Can my

be included in

a typical early

childhood

classroom

December 4, 2010

Parents of who are

eligible for Early Intervention (0-3 years)

or Special Education (3-5 years) services

have many questions about placement

options for their preschooler.

Can a typical preschool classroom be

considered even for a child with more

significant needs? Are there criteria

that determine whether a child can be

included? How are supports such as

speech therapy provided in a typical

preschool classroom?

Come find the answers to

these questions & more!
