Guest guest
Just as not enough can make a person VERY gassy. to my knowledge one cannot rely overdose on probiotics---and individuals with leaky gut/malabsorptions need the probiotics until the condition which created the permeable intestines is identified and resolved--as in no more leaky gut/malabsorptions. It's hard to test and leaky gut does not always mean overt digestive issues ---my daughter had none--except yes, gas. In her case she did not have enough good bacteria--we've been supplementing but my nutritionist says some patients also need good prebiotics--to help the good bacteria stick around----due to bad bacteria overgrowth---probiotics can be taken and not stick around to grow their healthy cultures--hence the need for more and difernet probiotics soemtimes-depending what best addresses the pathological bacteria present in that individual. So basically even with a lot of probiotic supplementation--a lot of it cna be wasted---you want to make sure it is a highly efficeint one and that it stays around--by providing a good prebiotic to go wit it. i know-what will they tell us to do next--a pre-pre-probiotic?--well if you think about it it makes sense--becuase if what damaged your good bacteria can do so again--no matter how much you provide if you do not address the initial cause. Just keep in mind that over 75% of the immune specialized cells are in the gut.YES, in the GUT!!!---about ever thord cell in the immediate lining and most of the ones in the subsequent layers of the intestinal wall is comprised of immune specialized cells. When the intestines become to permeable--as the food enters the blood stream and beyond in larger particles than it should be--these individuals usually have an underlying lack of enzymes--hence the poor digestion and leaky gut--the food ferments and give rise to too much of the bad bacteria which overpowetrs the god bacteria-and a vicious cycle of malabsorptions gets created. So probiotics are a must--an absolute must--but there are many kinds and soem work better than others-soem are better for certain things and for many a prebiotic is required--as well as a specialized diet to maximize probiotic efficiency and help heal the gut-creating a healthy microflora. This is nno easy task if there ar eunderlying faulty enzme productions that are interfering with the digestve process to begin with --and destroying the god bacteria. Anyway---so once the specialized immune system cels are activated to target the food that is entering the blood stream in larger particles than normal---there are a whole series of immune cell reactions that are pro-inflamatory--and cause problems in various weaker areas in the body--- the brain is often one of them, the liver, the kidneys-but it can vary--for others it is the bones, the lungs an existing infection/inflammation in the body, etc. So probiotics are vital for healthy absorption and immune function--everyone who is not eating a traditional diet without processed foods and a lot of refined carbs should be taking one even if no symptoms are presant-they will be ther ein due time on this kind of diet. But if immune/neurological and metabolic or digestive symptoms ar epresant--probiotics take on a whole new meaning--they become nvital. and LOTS are needed. Elena So treating digestive problems--is vital to the whole body and systems-neurological and immune first and foremost. > > > Hi, > > My 4 yr old daughter had an almost constant constipation and stomach ache > problem until we started her on Kirkmans Probiotics Gold 2-3 months ago, > twice a day.
