Guest guest
The body generally craves what it needs-----the question is what in your body needs it?--the problem is we are NOT alone in our bodies--we are entire ecosystems where viruses and good and bad bacteria coexist and our bodies when in optimal health keep them at bay. When the immune system is weakened and the balance is broken----harmful bacteria, viruses etc are more likely to flourish and even attract new infections ----- In turn these harmful bacteria/viruses/parasites etc--commonly known as opportunistic infections can overpopulate and take over--they then can start to dictate what they want more of--and cause cravings for just the foods that further weaken the immune system since these are the things they seek---cancer cells also thrive in acidic environments--sugar is acidic as are most processed foods--(aka junk food) all harmful to the immune system and our overall health--but great fro opportunistic infections--so it's a double whammy. It is this type of craving that some doctors refer to as being bad for us. Otherwise what our own body cells crave is generally beneficial to our body. It is only the opportunistic infections that mess up the craving signals and further deplete us of the good nutrients causing a spiraling downturn in health. Yeast is probably the most common culprit in all of us. That's why it is so hard to kick the sweet tooth--and it si actually easier to go completly off sweets initially--until the yeast that craves it dies off--or you will be destined to think about nothing but your next bite of a sweet treat. After several weeks of no sugar though--the body no longer craves it and you can go back to moderate consumption is health condition allows. Nutrition is what good health is all about--and unfortunately most processed modern diets are very deficient in vital nutrients which boosts opportunistic infections and yes, these kids can crave things that are bad for their health--but this rarely applies to natural whole foods--or anything that does not involve refined carbs and sugar--those are the big yeast/parasite/cancer feeders and that's all the confusion. Your therapist said that the body craves what it doesn't need? I would have told her " Speak for your own sickly body " Boy if she were right ... Wouldn't that mean that the human race is doomed??? I just want to jump in yet again with another gentle reminder 'if' your child isn't allergic to milk- which should be tested for by a doctor (and so glad you'll be seeing one for this)...and you pull your child off of milk -you put your child at risk for weak brittle bones, short stature, and obesity..here's just one article http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/content/full/76/3/675 I have much more on this if you need more info such as how you can replace the milk by having your child suck on bones etc (no really -but you can also cook them in soups first) " Yet it is possible to attain optimal health without dairy foods. Price discovered groups using no dairy foods that had complete resistance to dental decay and chronic disease; their diets invariably included other rich sources of animal fats, calcium and other minerals. The soft ends of long bones were commonly chewed, and the shafts and other bones were used in soups. " http://www.realmilk.com/healthbenefits.html Some do have to avoid milk due to true allergy and I do hope your child isn't one of them -but I have a question for you....is your child on fish oil because the dry patches and skin rashes- that's a number one sign of lack of the essential fatty acids. (fish oils) And constant runny nose -not sure where you live but if you are in a cold area...my nose always does that when I am cold which is why I moved to Florida (just kidding -I only moved here to be close to Mickey Mouse) But anyway here's 787 other reasons why a constant runny nose http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/symptoms/runny_nose/causes.htm Best of luck and if you don't have your child on the fish oils read http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=7401 and ask your ped if you can use the fish oils -try that before the radical and possibly unnecessary and keep it simple if you can! =====
