Guest guest
Hi It's pretty daunting to have the surgery thrust on you at such short notice I feel nervous with you just thinking about that one. My surgery was postponed for a month and what a relief that was - the trouble with that though is that it still comes round eventually - so you might as well get it over with. I doubt that anyone is ever prepared enough for surgery that it doesn't bother them at all. So best wishes, hang on in there and even go a little gaga if you need to. We're all behind you, quite literally now for some of us. You'll be fine. Phil ps. what part of the country are you in?
Guest guest
Hi Phil Thanks for that. It is better I suppose having it now as I would still have had to have gone through this anyway in 3 weeks. It's just been thrust upon me but I think I have just got over the shock now! I'm popping into work tomorrow just to let everyone know but I will be booking Friday off as annual leave to sort out everything (domestic stuff etc...) Yippee ..no work - only positive I can see at the moment - although i'm sure i'll feel better a few months down the line (well i'm hoping i'll feel a different person cos this one has been sooo tired lately!) I am actually based in Preston, Lancashire and going into the Royal Preston Hospital for the op so here goes! Thanks for your reply and good luck when you're due! Guest guest
Hi It's the thirteenth of October for me at Bart's in London, which is near to where I live. Though I originally came from St Helens, not a million miles from where you are. Good Luck again. Phil Hi Phil Thanks for that. Got to find some positives....I am all packed and ready to go into hospital (2pm tommorrow - surgery Tuesday). My parents and parents-in-laws keep ringing us up making me and hubby more nervous!!! We just chill out and relax for a while then the phone rings......brrrr driving us mad!! Oh well come tuesday evening the surgery will be done!!! Better than waiting another 2 weeks when it was due.. Anyway i'll keep you all posted and let you know when i'm home. Many thanks francineeaves <feaves@...> wrote: > Hi..Thanks for all your replies..it's some support and comfort and hey..I get to be off work sooner and get rid of some quite difficult cases I was not looking forward to working on!! > I was hoping to follow all the folks recoveries having ops in early October but it looks like i'll be the one to keep you posted on my recovery first!!> Good luck to everyone and i'm sure i'll be posting the night before I go in!> Just hope all goes well at the pre-op.> Many thanks > > > ---------------------------------> Want to chat instantly with your online friends? Guest guest
I don't post much, but in this season of thanksgiving I thought I might share my thanks. I am really thankful to this group because without you all I might believe that I had to go through this journey by myself. There is always great information being shared here and my son and i are better having found you all. This group has given me hope for what my son can do...and because of the wonderful ideas and lessons shared from those w/older kids to those of us w/younger kids we have seen amazing results over the last year.. Just yesterday when I was giving Keegan (38 months) his fish oil pills, which we call his " talking medicine, " he told me " Mom, I already talk better! " In April he was only using signs and 1 word utterances! Never underestimate the encouragement and sharing of information here! Thanks to you ..your book The Late Talker changed our lives..and our 1st speech therapists view and practice! We share it with anyone we can. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
