Guest guest
I am frustrated and need some support. My non-verbal 2 1/2 year old apraxic son won't work with our SLT. At school, he goes to a SLT and all they say is that " he won't talk " which I know. They are working on getting a computer device for him. We have a SLT that comes to our home once a week, but he won't even let her touch his face and tries to run away from her, especially when she is trying to make him make noises. She has said that this is her only case were she hasn't made a connection with him yet (he has been seeing her for about 2 months). Has anyone had any experience with this? Is this an " age " thing or just " him " . he does well with the OT (we are just working on feeding, so all he is doing is eating there which he likes to do anyway). By the way, we are on day 10 of NV/fish oil and he has said baba, mmm and pa from saying absolutly nothing. He isn't consistant with it, but at least it is something. We are giving him 2 tbs a day. should we up it?
