Guest guest
Kathy, We have the same case with our son (only child). He’s 6yrs old and spontaneous language/speech is one of the most difficult goal we are trying to achieve with him. He has some but really very limited for a 6yrs old. Wonder also if NV would help in that area. Also, how did you decide to get him tested with seizure? We haven’t checked him yet as his pediatrician and developmental pediatrician did not recommend for us to do it but I’m really curious to know if he’s having seizures. He would blink his eyes at times for couple seconds and would be out of the world for a split seconds until we call his attention and he would be good as nothing happened. Is this a sign that he might be experiencing seizure for a split seconds across the day? TIA! Beth
Guest guest
Hi Kathy! We are seeing surges in the area of independent speech and actions too -so in that area yes. " spontaneous language , increase social skills? I would love to see my son play with toys and use his imagination " yes too! You can read just some of the testimonies here http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html We are not really hearing much of any " not working " reports in general which is odd. Most of the surges are within a week (a few days) but the product is dosage dependent -some of us no longer even use level scoops and scoop out so there's a bit more on top! We tried to put up answers to many of the basic questions at http://www.pursuitofresearch.org You can also check out the FAQ page http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html I have much confidence in nutriiveda due to my own son and others in our group. Today I had to drive for a class trip to the " Swamp Safari " in the Everglades and both on the way there and back -Tanner spent some time reading- he's not the same Tanner- he's become so grown up and funnier...so many areas of change -I just want everyone to try this and see what I and others are seeing -it's like someone just put a battery in Tanner in a spot that we forgot about! Just mind blowing incredible changes. I don't know how else to say it other than I HIGHLY encourage you to get the approval from your child's doc and try it. =====
Guest guest
Here's a thought. Check with a doctor first! - * Look into S boulardii once a day for a week or so for the yeast, perhaps in parallel with acidophilus or an appropriate probiotic; * Consider substituting NV for the Depakote and see if, over a couple of months, NV helps with the seizures; * Consider NV for the weight worries; * And consider NV for helping your son develop beyond echolalia to using imagination. It may be that NV increases many peoples' serotonin availability. My hope is that NV builds neural and mental strength by building the primitive chemical " mind " that supports the modern electrical mind. And BTW, my hope is you get this. I don't seem to see back what I post to the group. Good luck - Tim Stearns On Thu, Mar 4, 2010 at 6:48 AM, Dean <dvsdean@...> wrote: > > > Hi, > > I am reading so much about NV. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I can tell you that my son also battled echolalia. He doesn't have autism, but one speech therapist pointed out his echoing at one point and even said that can be typical for some apraxic kids. was barely 3 at the time and only had about 20 words. When he wanted something, instead of saying " yes " he would just repeat back what I said him. Example... Me - " , do you want pizza for dinner? " - " Pizza for dinner. " If he didn't want pizza, he would just say no. Bizarre. But, looking back, I think he was just repeating me because it was easier for him to do that than to think of his own answer. I can happily say... this phase was short! Coop overcame his echoing tendencies after about 8 months of speech therapy. His speech really exploded once we started fish oil and Nutriiveda has been the icing on the cake. Since we started NV, his speech is more detailed, his word usage is more appropriate for a 4-year-old and he's much more focused. Things seem to be coming easier for him. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Tim and all -just wanted to point out that time to time acts up and we'll approve a message -but you won't see it post here till hours or even a day later! You can tell it's odd because if you check the time and date it will be the time and date stamped. I call it lost in -land. If however you post something and don't see it and it's been over a day -please repost. Tim I can tell you take lots of time and thought to post some very interesting scientific type answers and I'd hate to lose them too. Please to everyone resend it if you don't see it. And Kathy I didn't even catch the seizure and weight loss aspect until I just read this from Tim -I want to second what he says about that -I'd even go as far as saying don't even try anything extra for the yeast until you try the nutriiveda...it seems to have it's way of working on the whole body in ways we may not understand yet and other than fish oils or anything that is medical necessary I'd say to give it a good shot and to expect the best results -just keep it simple and try the nutriiveda- with your doctor's approval of course. You may want to read Mel's blog http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/about and even speak to Robin, Mel's mom. Mel almost died from seizures twice and has been seizure free since being on the nutriiveda. She too had gained weight from the medication -30 pounds- but with the nutriiveda she lost much of the weight she gained and again has been seizure free. Her doctor is extremely impressed and as all of us in wonder of the nutriiveda and the dramatic changes it created in Mel (and again many of our children of all ages -Mel is now 26 years old) Her doctor has lowered Mel's seizure meds Depakote (sp?) 3X now and it's now possible that Mel -who had almost died of seizures and was hospitalized near death twice -with severe headaches that seemed constant -will be able to be off seizure meds one day not too long in the future due to nutriiveda!! I mean -I can't even believe I am writing this -it feels like I am making this up. It almost reminds me of an Aspeps fable or something ... " and all the children were not able to talk...and then the mother brought back the magic powder and added it to their drinks and they all started talking again...and they all lived happily ever after " Of course it's much more than speech. With weight not only did Mel lose weight and gain speech and so much more -my son Tanner lost 14 pounds and while on nutriiveda grew 3 and a half inches and is now normal height and weight...now it may seem like the weight loss had to do with growth right? But if you check records he lost 9 of the 14 pounds in the first week (!!!) You can read Tanner's story here http://pursuitofresearch.org/letter_lisa.html This has provided my son Tanner a new life. He isn't the same Tanner and those with little ones may never know where their child would have been in a year or five years if they didn't start nutriiveda early -but there are quite a few of us now with older children -teens and even adult -who know for sure that the only difference is nutriiveda -and it's no coincidence -no growth or developmental spurt. It's just the nutriiveda. There is so much more about this I would like to share- but all I can say is please just get approval from your child's doctor and try it. One day we'll understand why it's working- and clearly it's the nutritional aspect this provides. But the point being that nutriiveda was developed to work together in a synergistic way as one product -to provide the body with all it needs. So again please just try it -and keep it simple at least for a month or so to just nutriiveda -fish oils and anything that is medical necessary. You may find like us that you don't need all the other things. I hope to be hearing incredible updates from you too soon!!! =====
Guest guest
We are, Kathy! NV is definitely increasing spontaneous language, social skills, and imaginative play here. My mom just saw my son this afternoon for the first time since he started NV (just over a week and a half ago) and she commented on several improvements. It has really been dramatic over here! Now, by that I don't mean he's lost his diagnoses by any means, but noticable improvements in all of these areas, and he seems very aware of the changes, too. Dianne > > Hi, > > > I am reading so much about NV. My son has Echolalia . He repeats what you say .. This is progress from being total nonverbal at one time. However, he doesn't talk with out being prompted unless its something he wants or if he throws something in the trash he wants you to say trash. Anyone have any experience with NV helping with spontaneous language , increase social skills? I would love to see my son play with toys and use his imagination. He has a dx of autism however some doctors question it . He is on Depakote for absent seizures. He gain so much weight on this drug. Also He has a long history of having yeast. He is on Nystatin which is not getting rid of it. I thought I read that cinnamon gets rid of yeast and NV has cinnamon in it. Thanks I guess I just need to order it and try for myself. > Kathy >
