Guest guest
I have a 3yr3m son. He is in speech therapy currently but it seems to not really be doing anything. He can sign with signs he has learned and the extensive signs that we have made to tailor our life, he can grunt what he wants to say, even in the correct amount of syllables and he understands EVERYTHING, yet has no words. He had an eval with a SLP when he was 2yr8m and she said she would see him back in 6 months to see what his progress is. She gave me a working diagnosis of possible dyspraxia and mentioned that apraxia will be looked at in the next evaluation. She gave me numbers to contact the local ESD to start EI, which I have done and that is the therapy he is getting. 2 hrs a week with a group of 6 other boys. All the other boys talk but with difficulty. I have read The Late Talker and loved it! We are due back for his 6 months check up soon and I plan on being a bit more insistent with the SLP on getting certain things rolling. For now, I plan to start a communication bok b/c I want to start LCP supplementation and I want to track what progress, if any, he will make on the LCP supplementation. Which brings me to my question and point of posting (after a long explanation). How do I start it? What amounts, etc to start with? I figured it might go off of his weight as well...he weighs 42 lbs (big boy but extrememly healthy). Any help would be great! I picked up a bottle of Nordic Naturals Childrens DHA and a bottle of the Omega 3-6-9 capsules and am going to start him this am. Just wondering if there is anything else I should be adding or if I should be using something else... Kayla
