Guest guest
I just thought I would send a short update. I got NV and we started taking it on Sat. My son is 36 months and 26-27 lbs. I decided to ease him into it b/c I was worried about increased energy. We took 1/4 scoop on Sat and Sun and 1/2 scoop on Mon and Today. He drinks it mixed in water, no problem. I call it chocolate drink and give it to him in the car. I've found he's much more likely to finish a drink in the car. I have been told that my son is catching up to his peer, but since he's my first it is hard for me to know this. he's not in any therapy, but we do alot of letter sound and word practice constantly as well as mouth and tongue games. He was non-verbal until I started fish oil and he began to approximate roughly 10 words a day for weeks. He also spent weeks with his hands in his mouth and licking everything. A few weeks ago, I put him on Whey protein powder and he became very active and began to string words together and pull on his lips. He still seems to search for words, saying un un for lost or unknown words and sometimes fell back into his made up babble speech. So on Sunday, he started tapping a chair in rhythm to music and trying to interact better with others. Monday we took him to a play area and he was actually talking to the other kids instead of hitting them " Guys, guys, up here! " Today has been the most interesting day of all. He's talked non-stop, and mostly without his un un's. He started saying to me " say Aa " say oo say hammer say door. This is one of the games I play with him, say the sound and then a word with the sound. We went to the store and there was a train on the track--stopped. He said, " A crain. A crain runs 'cross this track, Red boos at the back. " The last part is the first two lines from Crews book Freight Train that we read often at night. Then we had lunch with my husband and I was telling him how NV detoxes but our son didn't seem to be feeling any side effect. And my son stopped eating and clearly said " it hurts right here on top head " pointing to the crown of his head. We just looked at him. The last two days he has been so hungry--a good sign for my picky eater. He woke up at 5 am b/c he was hungry, ate another breakfast at 10, lunch at noon, snack at 4. This is a child who will go a full day without food if he doesn't like what is offered. I've been giving him food I know he'll eat, but at this rate, he won't be able to be a picky eater anymore b/c he's too hungry. I'm taking a half dose of NV also.--2 scoops I want to feel what it is like and I need to lose quite a bit of weight. I also am an unmediated person with strong ADD. When I first drink the shake, I feel like my skin is crawling and I just want to shake my hands to get it to stop. I feel like I can barely focus and like I am about to jump out of my skin. It does stop after about an hour to two. I also feel pretty horrible, achy all over. Does this get better? Is it detoxing or is it not a good match for my system? Also, my son has a eval with a speech pathologist at the university on Friday. Should I stop NV until after that? In the past if I stop giving him fish oil, he doesn't lose his ground, but does not learn anything new. Liralen
