Guest guest
, I am not quoting research here but only personal experience. I was dx w/Lyme in my rt knee in June of 09. I was on antibiotics for 4.5 months til early Dec. I started NV in mid Oct & it seemed to balance out my meds. I didn't lose that much wt then but didn't gain any. Antibiotics (according to my Google search) can cause one to crave sugars & starch/ gluten AND to gain wt. http://www.jigsawhealth.com/resources/weight-gain-yeast http://ezinearticles.com/?Doctor,-Why-Cant-I-Loose-Weight-and-by-the-Way-Why-Do-\ I-Feel-Sick? & id=2723 So, it seems logical that antibiotics could change the effectiveness of fish oils. Hope this info helps! Barbara Warmest wishes, Barbara A , M.S., CCC-SLP Executive Director, Help Me Speak, LLC 410-442-9791 [ ] ? about antibiotics and fish oils I'm new to the group, and my son has a speech delay. He has not been diagnosed as apraxic but I feel like that's what we're dealing with based on your postings and my research. Anyway, I started him on ProEFA about two weeks ago, and have seen some great effects already. BUT, and here's my question, can taking antibiotics affect the fish oil's positive results? He was put on antibiotics Tuesday for a respitory infection and it seems like it's counteracting the fish oil. Can anyone shed any light on this? Or could it just be that he's sick and not feeling like himself? Thanks,
Guest guest
It could be yeast. Antibiotics kill that good stuff along with the bad stuff and result in yeast overgrowth. Is your son on any probiotics? You should be giving him a good pribiotic at least 2 hours away from the antibiotic. > > I'm new to the group, and my son has a speech delay. Guest guest
I'm away for the weekend so hard to answer in full but noticed this thread is getting off from your original question. In short its normal for apraxic or speech impaired individuals to regress when tired stressed or sick w or without antibiotics. Nothing to stress over and if adding probiotics keep it simple as a newbie. Natural yogurt and/or keifer. My son regresses on many other probiotics. Some things we look at as benign like fiber for example can short chain the long chain fatty acids in the gut. Keep it simple. This too shall pass. Gotta run will answer more later! PS forgot to stress this is normal.
