Guest guest
Hi , I take my daughter to Good Shepherd Pediatrics in town,Pa. She sees Dr. Senft. She is the only developmental specialist in a 70 mile radius. Only bad thing is, it will probably take about a year or so to get in to see her. Phone # is 610-776-3578. Good Luck! Guest guest
Cant recommend doctors but in NY, each child with an IEP gets a full evaluation every three years! If its been that long, than the school should be in the process of doing their own evals again. Its called Triennial. Also be sure they will accept the recommendations of the doctors before going to see outside doctors. Most Ped Neurologists dont have as long of a wait as the Developmental Pediatricians. Good luck Maureen > > Hi, > > My name is and I'm new to this group. Was referred to me by
Guest guest
Thanks Maureen! I know we have a ton of members in New Jersey and Pennsylvania -please please help to help his 11 year old if you can. He just found this group and his 11 year old currently speaks on the level of a 3 or 4 year old. We as a group can help. I didn't want to start his son on NV until he got the evaluations but of course don't want him to have to wait long either!!! I did tell about Dr. Agin and Dr. Cargan as two respected by this group neuro MDs but I don't know any in the Poconos area of Pennsylvania. I know that is willing to drive. Please help again if you can! And I'd like to get his son at least one evaluation with a good SLP as well -he's going to need help to advocate for his 11 year old, and I believe strongly in outside evaluations. And no disrespect Maureen but I could care less if they 'say' they won't accept outside evaluations -if they are located in the US as they are -they will be part of the same due process and those evaluations are proof on the part of the child that the services and placement are not appropriate. Let us not forget that 's parents sued the Pennsylvania school district for abuse after years of misdiagnosis and placement when they tried to share that she was not mentally retarded or autistic -and her parents won. So them not accepting the outside evaluations just makes it tougher on all -but in the end -what is right and appropriate is what matters. =====
Guest guest
Thank you. I had seen their web site but was wondering if there were any others I am not aware of. I'll look into this. Guest guest
Hi , If you need a SLP in Northern PA or Southern NJ. I can highly recommend 'Beyond communication', they have an office in Pennington ( near Princeton) and in Northern PA, I forgot the name of the town. We had MRS PArson, we worked with her when we lived in NJ. She did an school eval and we had some private speech. She is very good, a lot of experience. Prompt etc. The office number is: 609 424 7793. Perhaps they also know a pediatric neurologist or developmental pediatrician. By the way, call CHOP too, they have offices all around Philadelphia. Good luck. Eveline. > > Hi, > > My name is and I'm new to this group. Was referred to me by
