Hi Everyone:

Here's an update for SEPTA for the week of October 4, 2010:

The SEPTA bookfair on Saturday, October 2nd was a huge success. Thank you

to all the volunteers who helped make this a success. A " special " thank you

to authors Anne Ford and - for their discussion and book

signing. A heartfelt thanks to Migdalia for organizing the guest

speakers, and to all the teachers and youth council for reading. More

details will follow in the SEPTA newsletter. We would like to formally

thank Lesser, supervisor of the arts for his assistance with the art

contest titled " A Special Mother " and to at B & N for her hard work in

preparing the day for SEPTA.

Attached is the flyer with sign up sheet for the next SEPTA special event,

facilitated by Crowley, author of the book Chasing Miracles. We hope

you will take this opportunity to pre-register for the event. Tickets can

also be purchased at the door. Please help us spread the word and please

join us on November 10th at Hammarskjold Middle School EPAC.

From the Office of Dr. MeKlune, Supervisor of Secondary Special

Education:

Our Structured Learning Experience (SLE) program is growing! The SLE program

provides students at the secondary level with the opportunity to try out

various work environments in order to identify areas of interest, student

strengths, and potential career paths. Students are supervised at all job

sites and learn valuable employment skills through participating in

authentic work experiences. SLE placement coordinators, Lois Moskowitz,

Canzano, and Mark Arshan, seek to provide students with a range of

opportunities in various career clusters. Due to the popularity of this

program, they are in need of additional placements for our students. These

opportunities can be paid or unpaid. If you know of any potential placements

please contact Lois <mailto:lmoskowitz@...> lmoskowitz@... or

Mark <mailto:marshan@...> marshan@...
