Guest guest
Hello, I am new to the group. I have a 27 month old son. Our Developmental Pediatrician believes our son could have Apraxia of speech, and may also have Limb Apraxia. Can anyone give any recommendations for activities at home that can help treat him? He seems to have weak mouth muscles, won't or can't stick out his tongue, won't or can't shake his head 'yes' or 'no'. He can make multiple consonant sounds (like De, Pa, Mmm), but struggles to get words out. His says 'yes' when asked a question, but it comes out 'Dee'. He says 'down' to get down from a chair or to go down stairs, but he often struggles to get it out. He has said 'mom' and 'bubble' without being prompted a few times recently, but won't say them when prompted. I appreciate any ideas. Thanks
