Guest guest
I like Carlsons cod liver oil lemon flavor, it has no taste. I take 1T a day. Gracia My cardiologist suggested I take fish oil and he knows of my hypoT. I have heard there is good fish oil and not so good fish oil. Guest guest
Bev I did the same thing after my gallbladder was out in April and mine has already dropped from 232 in October, 213 in April to 198 without fish oil. I'm really watching everything I eat.. no red meat... etc.. like you.. more fish etc... and green leafy veggies fruits.... and fat free milk etc... and I have lowered my LDL as well this way.. I was going to look into the fish oil to help raise my HDL.. M Bev <bdowns45681@...> wrote: I get mine at Wal Mart and it's the kind that is coated so it doesn't repeat on you.. I don't know if it is working yet, I go next month for tests to see if it is.. I've been taking it for 5 months. Do you eat meat? I've given up all meat except seafood once in a while. And I don't eat hardly any dairy either. So in others words not very much animal food at all. I gave this up before I started taking fish oil when I had to have my gallbladder out last Aug. and after a few month did the test and my cholesterol was very low so I could go off the cholesterol meds. then started taking fish oil. so we'll see in July is it works. Guest guest
Hi Venizia, Policosanol is a supplement derived from sugar cane wax. There are some derived from other things are not supposed to be as effective. The brand I'm using is called Nature's Life and is a tiny pill of 23 mg with 60 pills in the bottle. Here's what I do. I take 2 Natrol Fish Oil capsules per day (2,000mg fish oil), AND I take 2 NOW Shark Liver Oil to get my 20,000 IU Vit. A. (The Natrol doesn't list any Vit. But if I switch to another fish oil (not a liver oil), I won't have a Vitamin A source. ==>You can safely take 30,000 IUs of vitamin A per day, and even more won't hurt you - you just need to not take it for 1 day per month to level out any excess that may have built up. You can continue taking cod liver oil during the summer too. There is such a small time period during the day in which you need a lot of body exposure to get adequate levels of vitamin D. > > Any suggestions would be welcome of a brand or kind of fish oil that I can use that will get me the 3000 mgs fatty acids I need but not overdose or underdose me on the Vitamin A. ==>It would take many months (6 or more) of taking over 50,000 IUs of vitamin A per day to overdose and stopping it one day a month handles that problem. I eat fish 1 - 2 times a week (haddock, scrod) and I do take fish oil capsules as well. ==>You can get about 3,000 mg of omega-3 from 6 ounces of salmon; I do not know about the other types of fish. You need 2,000-3,000 mg daily. You could take fish oil when you do not eat fish. Hopefully you are getting enough vitamin D from the sun, and you are also taking vitamin A in addition to fish oil. Otherwise you should take cod liver oil to get all 3 of those nutrients. Bee

If you take fish oil with complete meals containing protein and fats it will help with the burps. Also ensure you are improving your digestion as I recommend, and eating sauerkraut with every meal or taking hydrochloric acid supplements. I'm not familiar with the AV Group nor the moderator. I have read those articles by Ray Peat. I put more faith in Dr. Weston A. Price because his research was so very thorough, and he sent food samples back to his laboratory in the US for detailed analysis. My program, including cod liver oil, hasn't obviously hurt anyone; to the contrary, people are healing things I never imagined possible when I designed this program. So I'm not in the least concerned about my cod liver oil recommendations. The many Success Stories by members of this group are all the proof anyone needs: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/index.php I also take cod liver oil (not fermented), and I'm very healthy! The best to you, Bee

Guest guest
I think fish oils are all over hyped unless there is clincal reasoning for i would not recommend them. I would take a persons case history and diet into affect. Too much fats can over load your liver and producing extra stress on the body to handle the free radicals. This is why I do not recommend oils to people at all it can slow down ones thyroid. > > > > > > > > Hi guys, > > > > > > > > I was recently confirmed of having very low, > > > abnormally low testerone with free levels at 8am at > > 114 > > > total and 25 of like 60 free test. Guest guest
Virtually all fish oil is rancid. A good test is biting into the capsule and tasting it. New Chapter Whole mega EZ is a good one to use. There are no toxins in it and the preservatives used are rosemary, oregano and Vitamin E. It contains Omega r, 5, 6, 7 and 9 Fatty Acids and Astaxanthin (see www.naturalnews.com for free book about that ingredient). Wholemega will reduce inflammation for up to 48 hours and will visibly help acne within a very short time too, about ten days. Rancid oils are toxic and very bad for you. Never, ever buy those discount brands. Carlson's also has a good reputation but I haven't tried it. Sharon > > hello everyone, > > I wanted to ask if any of you were taking fish oil? Guest guest
You can also get flax seeds and grind them as you need them. Flax oil and ground seeds do go rancid quickly, but I've never before heard that they are toxic. Why did your naturopath say that? Edible organic microalgae has Omega 3 - go right to the source, that's where the fish get it, so you can get it from algae too. Guest guest
thanks all! well i dont know because before that everyone told me it was really good to have it but apparently it gets toxic very quicly and u have to take it within a month of opening the bottle and always put it in the fridge! I think I wont take capsules, I prefer the natural way! Because I have too much cholesterol LDL (194-normal range<100) and because of eggs and bacon etc.. because before that my cholesterol levels were normal. ________________________________ From: algaelady1 <carol@...> candidiasis Sent: Fri, September 3, 2010 6:36:35 PM Subject: Re: fish oil You can also get flax seeds and grind them as you need them. Flax oil and ground seeds do go rancid quickly, but I've never before heard that they are toxic. Why did your naturopath say that? Guest guest
Do you count NOW as a discount brand? I take their fish oil and a few times I've broken the capsule by accident and it just tastes really fishy, but doesn't seem rancid to me. I guess I should get the Chapter Whole stuff and compare. What do you think? ________________________________ From: Sharon <hotmocha@...> candidiasis Sent: Fri, September 3, 2010 9:22:04 AM Subject: Re: fish oil  Virtually all fish oil is rancid.
