I also have a 5 yr old Ben!

He will be 6 next week and he will be starting Kindergarten inÂ the fall 2010!

This year has been our most progressive and amazing year yet!!

'Red shirting' Kindergarten has been the best decision I ever could have made!

there is always my much more recommended plan B for this question...the

one where you wait about 12 months, keep your child in a really good

multisensory enriched preschool up till then...and right around February 2011

Same here!--I was worried about kindergarten since she's an August baby--but

she's been progressing so well--both the developmental ped and I --and everyone

--feel it was the best thing for her. But we did have previous preschool

experience and her one great thing always--was begin eager to follow the other

kids--she still does that and it's great. Kindergarten has worked for us--and

homework is going well---she is still very excited to go to school so I have no

doubt we did the right thing in her case. Got to take the cues from the

kid--their willingness to interact and follow directions I think is a big one.

One on one she's not so good-- too much like her therapy ---but with other

kids--everything is a game and she wants to be part of it.
