Guest guest
there is always my much more recommended plan B for this question...the one where you wait about 12 months, keep your child in a really good multisensory enriched preschool up till then...and right around February 2011 you post a message to this group with the subject: " Fwd: Please help me locate a kindergarten for my 6 yr son Ben " May want to read why I say this here: Research Link / When Children Aren't Ready for Kindergarten http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=app_2373072738 & ref=ts & gid=115029735601#!/top\ ic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=8863 =====
Guest guest
Ditto what said. We chose to keep our son in his wonderful developmental preschool another year, and we are so glad we did! He'll start kindergarten this Fall, and already we're seeing enough improvements every day to make us feel more and more comfortable with giving him an appropriate public school start then. He just wasn't ready, and neither were we. Taking this extra year to educate ourselves about our options, about advocating for him at IEP meetings, and preparing him in every way was the right choice for us. If you're feeling too much pressure and just not feeling everything is quite right, waiting might be the thing to consider!
