Guest guest
Most of us just need NV and fish oils to see surges in various areas (like this http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit-of-research/ ) but there are a few people that reported more dramatic surges by adding digestive enzymes. You can check with your doctor but I recommend starting with just the NV (and if already on fish oil continuing with that -if not yet start one at a time) and then add one thing more at a time and give a week or even month between. This way you can see what's worth continuing with and what you don't need. I do know that NV has improved my sons ability to make more complex language. Keep in mind that he just turned 11, only said his first word at 4.5 years old and had 2 word sentences in about grade 2. I started NV in march. I had stopped everything except the fish oils. I did notice the sentence complexity almost right away, but not much else, Then one day, i still had some digestive enzymes to use up, so added them in with the NV. Thats when i started noticing subtle differences. He only started actually riding his bike when he was 7 years old, but loved to build ramps and would run, holding his bike, not riding it, over the ramp. This is a child who HATES anything that involves his feet leaving the ground. Anyway, a couple of days after adding in those digestive enzymes, he actually put the ramp a little lower and rode over it! There were a few other things that he did that surprised me bit didn't think anything of it at the time, just thought it was the NV. When I finished the bottle of enzymes i didn't buy more, because i thought the NV and fish oil were fine. Once I stopped the enzymes however, he seemed to have a regression but i didn't connect it until recently. It's been puzzling to say the least, and I didn't want to post about it until now because i wasn't positive, but after a few stops and starts it does seem, that for my son digestive enzymes enhance the results of the NV. For those of you with younger children, the NV and fish oils would probably be enough. And if my son had started this before he had any words i would be reporting increased babble or attempts as speech and would have been thrilled with that. I don't have any idea why the enzymes seem to make a difference for him, i'm perplexed to say the least. If anyone has any ideas about this I'd love to hear them. Either way, I love what NV has done for my son and wish it was around when i started this journey oh so long ago! hope that answers the question! Guest guest
I think that the reason the digestive enzymes is helping some children is because some children have some " gut issues " and the enzyme is assisting in better aborsption of the NutriiVeda. Guest guest
Thanks Demi, I agree some may need it. My son Tanner has (had???) gut issues as well but he never did well on probiotics and I still have plenty of them in the house which I can't throw away -they are perfectly fine but don't know what to do with them!! Tanner regresses on most probiotics and doesn't need them with his NV. As I just wrote to until we have a better understanding as to why essential fatty or amino acids appear to help, in the case for example of the fats which are long chained we don't know if certain things that may help some are short chaining those long chained fatty acids in the gut. I still think the best to do is what Sandy did and try using the NV alone (or with fish oils) and then add the probiotics, digestive enzymes or anything else one at a time and see if it's needed. Hope all is well there! =====
