Guest guest
I think not a lot of people don't know or can tell the difference between Autism(severe, moderate, mild), PDD NOS, ADHD, Only a Late talker, Aparaxia, expressive aparaxia. Unless they have a lot of experience. I am saying this because as everyone know boys will boys. I want to tell my story and please tell me what you all think about my situation here. My kid was not a verbal person. I think his personality was like that. I mean he did all the things as normal kids. All the miles stones were met except speech. He smiled back, looked for mommy when i was not in his view, followed me, walked at 10 1/2 months of age. Followed simple instruction around 1 to 2 years of age( like throw the ball and kick the ball). At 12 months he even shared his toys with a girl of 2 years again and telling her what to do(like tell her to sit on the push toy so that he can push it (like a tricycle with adult handle)). He liked to be with the kids. Never used to bump into things he used to be careful. Everything was fine around 2ish he drank a lot of milk as a result he used to have lot of energy, So he used to run a lot, not always but when he felt the energy to do so. Let me tell you more, our friend moved because of work. He did not have anyone to play with so he used to stay with my mom a lot not much interaction with kids. Except having his own play like running around and holding my mom and hugging her kind of things. He is well build and does not have any forms of ear infections. May he had wax built up because I never removed it much (I am scared to put the buds in his ears). He was ok with hearing the vacuum sometime but I sometimes he did not like it. Let me tell you that I do not vacuum everyday (I have wood floor I sweep) So it's not a regular thing that he hear every day. He was ok with the food processor. Also he used to get scared when my pressure cooker used to make the sound (I had 40 year old getting scared for this). i joined work. He followed my general instructions but not the kick the ball kind of things, unless if he wants to anymore. But few things like when i used to sing head shoulder, he understood what it meant and came to me to sit in front of me to hold him and do it. Also would know the song of ring ringa roses and when i say all fell down he used to like it and come to us to hold us. He never did any weird things like moving his body, eye or hand movement except sometime rarely may he did it like counting the finger with one hand thing (Thumb point to other fingers of a hand and moving those fingers close to thumb) or moving the palm back and forth slowly like saying i am not giving him something .These 2 thinks are very rare. I would not even say he used to do it daily. May be ony when he felt bored or may be when i was not giving him something. He never had any problem going to public events, malls, shops. I can say he is a very manageable kid. Never had any tantrum that goes on for hours. He used to ask for certain thing and point to it and tell us exactly what he wants by pushing our hands to point to objects. At max he used to ask for few minutes when he remembered it or wanted it. Now at 3 1/2 he still likes to be with kids and like to play hide and seek. Can do all the things one asks him to do. Does not run around that much because I limited the amount of milk he is having. Speak s only few words but speak very clearly. He can do all the things if he sees them once and even implement things he saw some other place. Examples are 1. He asked my dad to show him, how to use the Ziploc bag and when he showed it to he did it from then on, 2.He saw someone moving the wardrobe glass doors and when he saw the same doors in other room he remembered it and he tried to do it and also 3.once when my brother put him on his lap when he was driving in our parking area, he knew what my brother did. so when he saw that the car was not moving anymore. he tried turning the steering and then went down and was trying to push the accelerator. I hear from some of the people that are working with him for few months that they never had any problems with his and he was very manageable and learned this easily. To summarize we can speak 3 languages but we used to talk in 2 languages.
